Golden Era makes me sick. Cha Cha Cha is cool! My friend J works there and i always get fuckered up on sangria.

huh - never heard of it. got some nice gear though. don't recognize anyone that's recorded there, makes me think they haven't been around for too long...? how'd you hear about 'em?

The guy who runs it is a friend of our drummer.

i'm going to be in SF this weekend & will have time to hang on sunday and at least part of monday, if anyone's up for a beer or brunch or something. (how is universal cafe?)

I haven't been in ages, but their brunch used to be great as I recall.

That settles it. Next V-day I'm taking chaki to Cha Cha Cha instead of Shakey Mo.

Off topic, but to anybody visiting the Exploratorium, definitely make an appointment to experience the Tactile Dome, an internal sculpture exhibit which people will feel but never see. The exhibit is encased in a geodesic dome about the size of a large weather balloon. Visitors enter through a light-lock room into a totally dark maze (path). Then, for an hour and fifteen minutes, they feel, bump, slide and crawl through and past hundreds of materials and shapes which blend, change and contrast.

Pizza My Heart in San Mateo/Santa Cruz, and maybe some other locations in the Bay Area, has that kind of big, yummy, thin slice of pizza.

But really, SF is more about fancy pizzas - Gialina, Pauline's, Pizzetta 211, etc. See Michael Bauer's blog for lots of mini pizza-place reviews

i was gonna suggest Arinell's (that joint on 16th/Valencia), but there's also Escape From New York Pizza in the haight that's pretty good. just had it for lunch today.
