I probably wouldn't find most of the takes convincing or at all useful.

I often find that when people try to describe these type of big ideas behind their favorite thing, they come across a bit dishonest, like they're flattering themselves and describing something very different to the thing they actually enjoyed. Although the big theme doesn't necessarily have to be the thing they enjoyed about it.

Let’s just cut to the chase. The big theme tgat everybody loved but refuses to talk about was gratuitous nudity

for me it was the incest

don't forget the raping

sometimes all in the same scene! truly it was a magical era of television.

don't think there was any nudity in series 8? someone should make a graph.

Bronn in the brothel with 3 women - scene was pretty much the writers going lol remember how much we used to do stuff like this

oh yeah, forgot that scene as it was so out of place. last nude named character was quite a while back, surely?

a season 1 version version of Euron would have been naked all the time except for a bandana

Well, at least we know that whatever it's about, Game of Thrones is most definitely *not* about "what it means to be human." Maybe what it means to be not-human? Perhaps, if they actually bothered to answer that question.

maybe 2 times out of 10, but much of the time that description tells you nothing or is really inaccurate.

Thread imitates its subject matter by devolving into an unsatisfactory detente between a couple of people who never cared that much about the title object to begin with

I mostly return to the thread for the gif of the ice zombie falling off his horse in front of a green screen, which I think more than anything captures a certain truth about this show.

yeah, don't watch it; it's hot garbage. zombie fight is fun, but stupid.

Ellis has a good eye for details there, cf Bronn abandoning his gold at the loot train to save Jaime vs him a season later being easily bribed into killing Jaime and Tyrion

If you've got low expectations (as I did), you'll probably enjoy it.

It's enjoyable enough up until the final episode which is a complete car crash.

It's not great, but it's fine. It easily hurdles over the low bar of being better than the BSG and Lost finales, at least.

The season or two before it wasn't great either. If you enjoyed those keep with it? There's stuff to enjoy regardless.

Last season is worse than having your nuts smashed in a car door, better than having them caught in a moving escalator.

I'd rather spend an eternity in hell rewatching the finale than a disappointed fan vlog about the finale

the last season isn't so bad if you think of it as a very long action movie starring actors who previously appeared on the tv show Game of Thrones

It was the last ever episode of Numberblocks this week, now that's how you nail a finale.

Oh man that Q and A session
