Penalty was a bit soft but I can see why it was given. I thought the keeper had a heel on the line the first time the penalty was taken but idk. Combination of VAR and semiprofessional clumsiness is killing this tournament.

having any football tournament starting with a number of teams which ensures that you need to advance some 3rd place group teams into the knockout rounds is fucking stupid

So great to see Italy, on the back of a breakthrough season for their league, show off this level of play, doing fun stuff, already through to the knockouts

just saw the brazil penalty decision again. absolute nonsense. the italian player is in front and uses her body in a sideways challenge. so many absurdly soft penalties are ruining this tournament

or did i miss a memo where the shoulder challenge is no longer legal

it is if it's shoulder to shoulder within playing distance to the ball with arms by your side.

the actual challenge in question is shoulder to chest with the ball to far forward for either player to reach
