ironically, craft own a lot of uk foodstuffs now.

(yeah, american friends always asked me to bring back mac and cheese and chocolate jello pudding. you can get the latter in big supermarkets now, expensive though.)

koogs, Monday, 3 June 2019 11:40 (seven years ago)

How about peanut butter?

Josh in Chicago, Monday, 3 June 2019 11:42 (seven years ago)

nah, it's chestnut margarine all the way in good ol' blighty mate

naked rollercoaster-riding world record holder (bizarro gazzara), Monday, 3 June 2019 11:43 (seven years ago)

uk mac and cheese usually contains rat guts tbf

mark s, Monday, 3 June 2019 11:45 (seven years ago)

You're thinking of Kraft rats & cheese (it's in the name!).

Josh in Chicago, Monday, 3 June 2019 11:45 (seven years ago)

Josh, your sister should order from here:

https://www.usafoodstore.co.uk/kraft.html

suzy, Monday, 3 June 2019 11:47 (seven years ago)

lol, she's been there 20 years or so, you'd think she would have figured out a way.

Josh in Chicago, Monday, 3 June 2019 11:49 (seven years ago)

She had never seen that site, thanks, but just told me it's good its limited availability keeps down her consumption. (She said she can get mac&cheese from Amazon, no surprise). She did say there's a Taco Bell there now, so she's good to go on the seven-layer burrito front (she's a vegetarian, and I think that's her nostalgic go-to).

Josh in Chicago, Monday, 3 June 2019 11:54 (seven years ago)

Flour, milk, cheese, bit of mustard and pasta. You don't have to be a nauseating cunt on a moped with multiple bankruptcies to whip up some mac n cheese ffs

calzino, Monday, 3 June 2019 11:56 (seven years ago)

Missed butter of course! Which might be made from the gel of pig's eyes inthe US

calzino, Monday, 3 June 2019 11:57 (seven years ago)

You forgot "powdered processed cheese" in your ingredient list.

Josh in Chicago, Monday, 3 June 2019 11:58 (seven years ago)

Just sprinkle some parmesan into some sawdust with a little onion powder.

calzino, Monday, 3 June 2019 12:02 (seven years ago)

Cheesus wept.

calzino, Monday, 3 June 2019 12:08 (seven years ago)

Josh there are loads of places in London where you can get foreign foods, I’m sure I’ve seen that mac & cheese on sale here. Any number of foreign sweet shops will have American peanut butter (will be expensive though) & she should also check the foreign food aisles of bigger Sainsbury’s.

gyac, Monday, 3 June 2019 12:12 (seven years ago)

calzino with the science

shhh / let peaceful like things (wins), Monday, 3 June 2019 12:13 (seven years ago)

Just sprinkle some parmesan into some sawdust with a little onion powder.

I mean, if you want to get sued by Kraft ...

Josh in Chicago, Monday, 3 June 2019 12:18 (seven years ago)

Needs to have peas in it imo

Excuse my judgemental posting, but travelling across the Atlantic and missing some awful processed stuff in a box is new to me. But I used to holiday in Newquay so wtf do i know.

calzino, Monday, 3 June 2019 12:24 (seven years ago)

sobering to think that after brexit happens the starving denizens of the uk won't have even a single box of kraft mac and cheese to fight over

naked rollercoaster-riding world record holder (bizarro gazzara), Monday, 3 June 2019 12:24 (seven years ago)

At least we'll have our memories of this guilded age of plenty pot noodles.

calzino, Monday, 3 June 2019 12:30 (seven years ago)

This morning I watched a muscular letting agent murder a pensioner for a single tin of dog food.

travelling across the Atlantic and missing some awful processed stuff

It's worse than that, it's for my sister, who *lives* there and has lived there for decades. I'd chalk it up to nostalgia. Like moving here and missing Brexit debates.

Josh in Chicago, Monday, 3 June 2019 12:54 (seven years ago)

oops sorry .. I stupidly thought you meant the traveler couldn't do without the stuff for duration of the visit ⫷ °⧭° ⫸

Aspen Jortstein (bizarro gazzara), Monday, 3 June 2019 13:07 (seven years ago)

Secret to mac & cheese on these shores is you need to use burger cheese, I've been told.

Daniel_Rf, Monday, 3 June 2019 13:08 (seven years ago)

wtf is 'burger cheese'

Lol bye bitch. Can’t believe GG was even given a radio show on relatively mainstream media anyway.

gyac, Monday, 3 June 2019 13:16 (seven years ago)

my other half works for Ofcom, she will be glad not to deal with his BS any more

Captain ACAB (Neil S), Monday, 3 June 2019 13:18 (seven years ago)

his acolytes and followers are some of the dumbest muppets out there. If Milne hasn't put some distance between himself and this idiot by now I'll be agreeing with the melts who said he should be gone.

calzino, Monday, 3 June 2019 13:20 (seven years ago)

are we done calling it "macaroni cheese" now? I was laughed at by Americans for calling it that, so probably a good thing if it's been resolved one way or the other

mfktz (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Monday, 3 June 2019 13:21 (seven years ago)

Still preferable to the Canadian ‘Kraft dinner’.

pomenitul, Monday, 3 June 2019 13:25 (seven years ago)

xxp American cheese, you know, those kraft slices individually wrapped in plastic

https://candyhero.com/ also Josh this place is based in Bradford, has peanut butter and other stuff. (I didn’t look too long as I’m morally opposed to most American sweets.)

gyac, Monday, 3 June 2019 13:25 (seven years ago)

Bah that was to bg

gyac, Monday, 3 June 2019 13:26 (seven years ago)

I call it macaroni cheese irl. It is probably the satanic influence of J Oliver that has me typing "mac n cheese".

goodness me using kraft slices to make cheese sauce sounds quite repulsive.

calzino, Monday, 3 June 2019 13:28 (seven years ago)

i can has burger cheese?

Aspen Jortstein (bizarro gazzara), Monday, 3 June 2019 13:29 (seven years ago)

I thought Kraft Dinner = Kraft Mac'n'Cheese?

Colonel Poo, Monday, 3 June 2019 13:31 (seven years ago)

i cannot for the life of me find coarse cornmeal anywhere (no, not polenta) (Indian Head or Bob's Red Mill) apart from Amazon, which is the LAST thing stopping me from closing my account there

help a brother out if you can

Lil' Brexit (Tracer Hand), Monday, 3 June 2019 13:32 (seven years ago)

hmm I think my wife was looking for that at some point, can't remember if she managed to find it but will ask

Colonel Poo, Monday, 3 June 2019 13:37 (seven years ago)

Never mind all that:

"As a fair and balanced news provider, talkRADIO does not tolerate antisemitic views," the broadcaster said.

hmmm......
