Oh sorry, Ben Foster says he just lumped it, my mistake.

After Cease to Brexist (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 27 April 2019 22:39 (seven years ago)

Glad we all have great teeth

FernandoHierro, Sunday, 28 April 2019 02:45 (seven years ago)

Thoroughly entertaining game this.

Matt DC, Sunday, 28 April 2019 12:29 (seven years ago)

I’m stuck watching Leeds, due to Bielsa, which is being enlivened by a mass brawl.

It sounds like Arsenal were being outplayed even before the red.

ShariVari, Sunday, 28 April 2019 12:36 (seven years ago)

lol, Leeds score, mass brawl and Villa red, Villa somehow manage to roll the ball into an empty net from the kick-off.

ShariVari, Sunday, 28 April 2019 12:39 (seven years ago)

I love this Arsenal team.

Matt DC, Sunday, 28 April 2019 12:45 (seven years ago)

Is it true that John Terry made a 'jog on' gesture to Bielsa on the touchline?

Matt DC, Sunday, 28 April 2019 12:47 (seven years ago)

He did indeed.

Magnificent goal from Vardy there.

ShariVari, Sunday, 28 April 2019 12:49 (seven years ago)

Could watch that on a loop all day.

ShariVari, Sunday, 28 April 2019 12:50 (seven years ago)

sheff utd's promotion to prem signed and sealed now (with the tears of L**ds Utd fans).

calzino, Sunday, 28 April 2019 13:01 (seven years ago)

At this rate, Spurs could lose their two remaining games and still finish Top 4

groovypanda, Sunday, 28 April 2019 13:07 (seven years ago)

Feel like the gap between 7th and 6th this season is very much not a given for next season

After Cease to Brexist (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 28 April 2019 13:53 (seven years ago)

yeah how long is it since there wasn't these phalanxes....feels like late nineties was an even dispersal all a bit fuzzy after that for me trevor

deemsthelarker (darraghmac), Sunday, 28 April 2019 14:09 (seven years ago)

If United win this then they only have to beat Huddersfield and Cardiff to finish top four. Chelsea meanwhile have eminently loseable games against Watford and Leicester.

Matt DC, Sunday, 28 April 2019 15:53 (seven years ago)

United fan on 606 slating the appointment of Solskjaer, wishes they'd gone for Rafa. nearly choked on my tea.

Don Revie will be spinning.

Freddie Starr (Hitler in shorts) (Tom D.), Sunday, 28 April 2019 18:52 (seven years ago)

choudhury should walk for that one-two

deemsthelarker (darraghmac), Sunday, 28 April 2019 22:20 (seven years ago)

in fact this ref seems to be one of those that approaches the game as if one team should be allowed mix it and one not, common enough in the epl when a scrapper team has an archetype of kicking and butting their way into a match

deemsthelarker (darraghmac), Sunday, 28 April 2019 22:22 (seven years ago)

a ref that wont send rojo off for that is a cunt an all

deemsthelarker (darraghmac), Sunday, 28 April 2019 22:41 (seven years ago)

raheem sterling fwa footballer of the year, fair enough.
some writer and sol bamba on sky sports right now saying he's up there with leo messi? not fair enough

dyche: "I thought it was refreshing to hear a top manager scream to his players to get it in the corner."

ogmor, Monday, 29 April 2019 09:14 (seven years ago)

messi desensitisation in full effect

ogmor, Monday, 29 April 2019 09:15 (seven years ago)

Telegraph today had a little graphic of keeper errors leading to goals this season in the league. De Gea was on 4 which was no surprise but Lloris only responsible for 1 was. Don' t know if too many years on ilf has led me to viewing Spurs games thru a dmac prism but I am almost certain Hugo has been responsible for at least 5 goals this season.

oscar bravo, Tuesday, 30 April 2019 09:51 (seven years ago)

It depends how they're counting but I think Lloris saved his most egregious mistakes for the Champions League group stages. 1 does feel very low though.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 30 April 2019 09:58 (seven years ago)

https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/error_lead_to_goal

It's possible this is out of date as well, but Begovic and Pickford are way ahead of De Gea. Pickford in particular has had a notably calamitous season.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 30 April 2019 10:00 (seven years ago)

Alisson higher than both

Some more stats here:

https://fansided.com/2019/04/03/week-stats-sins-hugo-lloris/

groovypanda, Tuesday, 30 April 2019 10:11 (seven years ago)

my kids' nickname for pickford during the world cup has forever rendered him "spongebob" in my house. IF ONLY HE COULD SOAK UP THOSE SHOTS ON GOAL AM I RIGHT EH ETC

Lil' Brexit (Tracer Hand), Tuesday, 30 April 2019 10:28 (seven years ago)

i think errors leading to goal is a very specific and high bar and "kicking is shit and panicky and a few have gone in he should've gotten" isnt captured

deemsthelarker (darraghmac), Tuesday, 30 April 2019 11:31 (seven years ago)

and at that one does seem very low indeed tbh

deemsthelarker (darraghmac), Tuesday, 30 April 2019 11:31 (seven years ago)

Presumably the Toby og at Anfield is the one error, cos if that doesn't meet the criteria then the bar must be v high indeed. The telegraph chart had alisson down for 3 , I can remember a failed Cruyff turn and dropping a cross vs Utd but am blanking on the 3rd.

oscar bravo, Tuesday, 30 April 2019 11:55 (seven years ago)

Presumably the Babel/Fulham incident is the third.

Ederson is fucking brilliant but nonetheless saved his (only?) two ricks for the semi-final against Sonny and Spurs. Be cruel to lay the blame at his door because he's literally saved about 6 one-on-ones against Spurs and Chris Wood in recent league games.

in twelve parts (lamonti), Tuesday, 30 April 2019 13:18 (seven years ago)

Errors leading to a loss of points/tie would be an interesting one. Pickford had to reach deep into the bag to find a way to give Origi that goal. Well... as deep as his little arms could reach.

in twelve parts (lamonti), Tuesday, 30 April 2019 13:19 (seven years ago)

Alisson is an odd player in that he makes more visible mistakes than most other goalkeepers, he'll hold on to the ball when he should play it or punch it back in to a danger area sometimes, and yet he engenders huge confidence in his defence and has a great presence

or something, Tuesday, 30 April 2019 13:44 (seven years ago)

Also a great shot-stopper and one-on-one

or something, Tuesday, 30 April 2019 13:47 (seven years ago)

He retains a supreme confidence in his abilities at all times, whereas it always seems like Simon Mignolet was deep in an agonising conversation with himself about his qualities. And Karius was just not that good ever.

in twelve parts (lamonti), Tuesday, 30 April 2019 14:08 (seven years ago)

and for alisson and ederson the rating of their performance is at a different scale to keepers who play in teams that call for no footwork but a full ninety of cross claiming and shotstopping

deemsthelarker (darraghmac), Tuesday, 30 April 2019 14:22 (seven years ago)

Yeah I think stats for goalies are not that useful because they're managing your team's psyche as well as the actual goal. Tom Heaton seems to have been very good for the ones who need to catch and get in the way of stuff all the time.

iker casillas has had a heart attack

reports that hes stable and conscious after surgery

deemsthelarker (darraghmac), Wednesday, 1 May 2019 15:25 (seven years ago)

Lucas Moura just lobbed Bournemouth's young keeper from the half way line and it went just past the post. Damn.

Matt DC, Saturday, 4 May 2019 11:42 (seven years ago)

eric dier just kicked the ball out for a throw, stayed the wrong side of their midfield for the counter and got booked for a hopeless lumbering slow and agressive tackle of fraser

thats him fucked for the remaining 78 mins

he was really good once lets not forget

deemsthelarker (darraghmac), Saturday, 4 May 2019 11:46 (seven years ago)

fuckin shockin lazy from eriksen, alderweireld now booked too

theyve gad the ball in our half for eight seconds

deemsthelarker (darraghmac), Saturday, 4 May 2019 11:54 (seven years ago)

it looks like Schalke’s new head coach is going to be Wagner. Glad he didn't go to some (or indeed another) tinpot english club cos despite everything going tits up he's a top manager.

calzino, Saturday, 4 May 2019 11:54 (seven years ago)

Moura keeps getting into one on one positions with the keeper and shooting right at him.

Matt DC, Saturday, 4 May 2019 11:57 (seven years ago)

otoh on another day he has a brilliant hat trick by now

deemsthelarker (darraghmac), Saturday, 4 May 2019 11:58 (seven years ago)

decision making against a packed defence is shot in this team

deemsthelarker (darraghmac), Saturday, 4 May 2019 11:59 (seven years ago)

five straight away losses ffs

playing well in attack today tbf but jesus we'll never keep eleven men with how brittle we look

deemsthelarker (darraghmac), Saturday, 4 May 2019 11:59 (seven years ago)

the only case for continuing to play eriksen in this form is to extract maximum juice before disposal

or drive away demand idk

deemsthelarker (darraghmac), Saturday, 4 May 2019 12:04 (seven years ago)

are you kidding me with this keeper btw

deemsthelarker (darraghmac), Saturday, 4 May 2019 12:04 (seven years ago)
