it’s interesting and valid for non policy dimensions to matter, just funny when even ppl who are purportedly all about policy (Klein, a prof in a policy school) put effectively zero weight on it.

i doubt ill ever go to a live podcast event but if i were in glasgow in june i might be tempted to catch chapo on their uk tour just because it seems incongruous

I'd never pay to see chapo but I'd def see Street Fight, who've said they're going to come through at some point

Downloaded a couple of eps of producer Chris's music podcast (And Introducing), it's pretty good (ie more listenable than Chapo has been lately). I'm halfway through the one about Meet Me In The Bathroom, it's ridiculously long (2.5 hours) and it's endearing to see someone's take on it a few years younger than me/the average ILXor. They still think all the people involved in the early '00s rock scene were kind of cool, it's adorable.

I was going to ask who from the show picked The Fall to end the latest episode, but figured it was Chris.

i feel like everyone involved in chapo has a tragic taste in music

they used to pick pretty good music to end the episodes until they presumably got too big and didn't want to draw attention. distinctly remember an ep ending with "who makes the nazis".

the one about the book, which I've read and have spent all my own commentary on, is simultaneously intriguing because they're younger and making me holler about how they seem to have missed a bunch of experiences of seeing shows in houses, 90s music scenes, whatever

And Introducing is fantastic! My introduction was the one Felix guested on about Kanye's tweets. I thought that one was pretty fun, but it's kind of atypical for the show. I honestly think the show's first episode is still one of the best.

The one about The Hacienda is pretty good too.

I've only listened to that one and part of the Felix Soundcloud rap episode - I think the book one is pretty representative, non-cynical 30-year olds' takes on music

the greatest Chapo running gag is that their producers/engineers have much better radio voices than anyone actually on the show
