6 more months of uncertainty and business spaffing money up the wall on no deal planning

... and the crowd said DESELECT THEM (||||||||), Thursday, 11 April 2019 06:21 (seven years ago)

heard Scrutodyce got pumped.

Teh Scrutemeister has snuffed it

Uptown VONC (Le Bateau Ivre), Thursday, 11 April 2019 07:30 (seven years ago)

Can't see the logic in the EU agreeing, nay asking, UK to play along in the elections. It will hijack the whole damn thing; maybe not in the UK, but outside it most certainly.

Farage will be glad they got his salary sorted tho.

Uptown VONC (Le Bateau Ivre), Thursday, 11 April 2019 07:31 (seven years ago)

Also I know it's hard to believe but 5 years ago people just didn't care that much about the EU - I think it's safe to say that's changed now.

I reckon 50% is about right.

Andrew Farrell, Thursday, 11 April 2019 07:45 (seven years ago)

as a commonwealth citizen can I run as a MEP for some tiny Brexiteer-ridden enclave of little England or

blokes you can't rust (sic), Thursday, 11 April 2019 07:46 (seven years ago)

Turnout will be an excellent litmus test of how many people in the country are really committed Brexiters or FBPErs - I'd expect 80%+ turnout among ultras and a decent turnout among people who are otherwise reasonably politically engaged, while virtually no one else will bother to vote.

Also I know it's hard to believe but 5 years ago people just didn't care that much about the EU

Depressingly OTM.

Sounds fair but I have completely no idea any more what % of people are ultras/"reasonably engaged"/mostly unengaged/actively tearing up their poll card

Is this extension definitely in the bag now or does it still need voted on somewhere? It is a nice day and it would be p. nice to have just a temporary reprieve from thinking about all this bullshit.

a passing spacecadet, Thursday, 11 April 2019 09:14 (seven years ago)

Pretty sure pro-EU ultras could have fitted in a telephone box last time there were EU elections.

Smurfs for Provence

Boles to the Wolds (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 11 April 2019 09:36 (seven years ago)

xp I mean, yeah? Voting in the EU elections wasn't a major political statement back then, it was a year away from the UK Election with Cameron's bloody pledge.

You are of course free to get to fuck with that shite, NV.

Andrew Farrell, Thursday, 11 April 2019 09:41 (seven years ago)

I lolled!

calzino, Thursday, 11 April 2019 09:43 (seven years ago)

it's distressingly easy to get a rise out of the intolerant centre

Boles to the Wolds (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 11 April 2019 09:50 (seven years ago)

In lighter news, Julian Assange has just been arrested!

Andrew Farrell, Thursday, 11 April 2019 09:59 (seven years ago)

Overnight, a handful of people, some describing themselves as activists, began arriving at the embassy in Knightsbridge. A row of orange tents, filled with white teddy bears, a guitar and a large babushka doll, was set up outside the building. Supporters spelled out "No Expulsion" in lights on the footpath outside the embassy

I feel there is some healing here, some room for myself and NV to unite to mock these fuckos.

Andrew Farrell, Thursday, 11 April 2019 10:06 (seven years ago)

hey i'm nothing if not an equal opportunity fucko-mocker ~:)

Boles to the Wolds (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 11 April 2019 10:07 (seven years ago)

Tommy Robinson was due to speak at a conference in Prague. Instead, he got blind drunk, threw up all over his room and broke all the furniture. The conference was cancelled as a result. https://t.co/JUJIQC4Z06

calzino, Thursday, 11 April 2019 10:35 (seven years ago)

It was a great event of the Czech anti-Islamist scene. The British icon of the movement against Muslim migration to Europe, Tommy Robinson, arrived in Prague. But everything ended infamously. The conference in the Chamber of Deputies was canceled and other actions were not taken because Robinson had been drunk the night before that he was unable to stand. During his rampage he managed to vomit and destroy the hotel room.

calzino, Thursday, 11 April 2019 10:36 (seven years ago)

it will go down fine with the TR base, but it begs the question can just any old pissed up violent degenerate get a platform on the bbc these days. Just start asking some random pissed up numpt who got arrested for headbutting a statue what he thinks about the big picture of EU immigration!

calzino, Thursday, 11 April 2019 11:10 (seven years ago)

I often think of his pissed up appearances on QT when I'm needing some succor and inspiration to help me continue dogging on through this marvelous journey of life.
