Hmm, that seems odd, esp. for a guy that never fires anyone.

Don't worry, he didn't this time either.

when guys named "Tex" get fired, it's a paradigm shift

presumably this is because "tex" blamed the maralago security stuff on ... maralago

The statement said: “The Secret Service does not determine who is invited or welcome at Mar-a-Lago; this is the responsibility of the host entity. The Mar-a-Lago club management determines which members and guests are granted access to the property. This access does not afford an individual proximity to the President or other Secret Service protectees.

Forgot about Barron. Where's he at?

Josh in Chicago, Monday, 8 April 2019 19:50 (seven years ago)

he's in training to be an adult trump

basically they have him cordoned off, and they ask him what he wants every 2 minutes and then give it to him, and if he doesn't respond with "i have been treated so unfairly" they slap him

That was fast, Trump just hired new head Secret Service guy:

What’s the big deal? If the judge give me you trouble than you just sue, settle the lawsuit and then send a crony to physically threaten whoever opposed you

Prosecutors said they found multiple electronic devices in the Mar-a-Lago intruder’s hotel room including a signal detector that can detect hidden cameras, another cell phone, 9 USB drives and 5 sim cards. Zhang has no ties--no residential, personal - in the US, per prosecutors.

Seems a bit obvious to be a spy, and also a stage beyond the bumbling idiocy that's made up the useful idiot class recently.
Seems to be willing to do something intelligence like but not have the faintest idea how to.
Or was bumbling supposed to be enough of a cover.

How, of all the evil assholes in the Trump administration, has Stephen Miller managed to hang around the longest? Is it just because he never goes out in public?

Josh in Chicago, Tuesday, 9 April 2019 00:10 (seven years ago)

stephen miller has been hanging around for centuries, in belfries, attics, the branches of dead trees

I heard that Kirsten Nielsen had gone but not that trump was now going back and doubling down on the family separation policy that I had hoped was a thing of the past.
Just extrapolating, but is he believing his own stooge dervied press where a suppressed report and a refusal to hand over tax returns have meant that he truly is exonerated. Really hoping that pride comes before a fall but that's true of the last 2 years with him.

Stevolende, Tuesday, 9 April 2019 09:32 (seven years ago)

Point also being that exoneration meant universal support or any and all restrictions to what he wanted done removed.
So headspace must be even closer to megalomania.
Not that he was healthy before but seems like he's totally flipped now.

Stevolende, Tuesday, 9 April 2019 09:52 (seven years ago)

Just extrapolating, but is he believing Stephen Miller? Yes.

Wait, you guys cant lodge your tax returns online via a govt website? That should be the ONLY way you can do it! Geesh they force everyone onto the fucking "eGov" website in this country.

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Wednesday, 10 April 2019 01:04 (seven years ago)

Idiot behaves idiotically.

This piece has the tone of something that would have run in the Washington Post in the early 90s when they were all about pointing out what rubes the Clintons were.

grawlix (unperson), Wednesday, 10 April 2019 10:43 (seven years ago)

And despite his criticisms, Trump found something to like at Mount Vernon, too. Among the artifacts preserved there is the bed where Washington passed away from a throat infection in 1799. Trump, who is infamously picky about where he sleeps and resists spending nights away from home, felt out the bedpost and told the Macrons and Bradburn that he approved, according to three people briefed on the event.

"A good bed to die in,” Trump said.

don't let us stop you buddy, go right ahead

d'ILM for Murder (Hadrian VIII), Wednesday, 10 April 2019 11:52 (seven years ago)

caught a minute of a pod talking about how the dismissal of nielsen means by statute the deputy is the new director, the admin didnt plan for that and announced the “new director,” leaving nielsen’s final act to be dismissal of her backup. Dunno if that’s how it’ll play out or be styled.

Meanwhile everyone’s walking around like it’s a fucking commercial, i hate these days.

Hunt3r, Wednesday, 10 April 2019 15:07 (seven years ago)

Heard that re Nielsen. & the person went onto joke about the person she fired having to fire somebody as she herself left.

Also hearing that the idea of leaving every official position being filled by an acting official may be as much tactic as mistake.
& it all meaning there would be less actual resistance to any policy trump tried to introduce.

"I am concerned about it," Barr says of spying on the Trump campaign in 2016. "There might be abuses that don't rise to the level of a crime."

He declined to explain the basis for his concern about spying in 2016.

I am reluctantly coming to think that the only way for Dems to win is to get their own WWE-style candidate with about five talking points repeated ad naseum, together with plenty of the bombast and name calling. There is so much noise these days, I am not sure the principled reasoned candidate.

Someone talk me off the ledge, please.
