I love the AV Club's SNL recap/reviews because the dude who writes them is literally enraged, every week, that he had to take 90 minutes out of his week to watch jokes that were not about how Donald Trump is the most evil person in human history and should be subject to mob execution.

The Deirdre/Jared short should've been in the first hour.

another dire episode with maybe two funny bits. I'm old and have no idea who BTS are but I agree with teenagers across the world that they were the best thing on the show.

That should be more of a factor when deciding whether or not to watch Saturday Night Live, rather than when deciding who should be on Saturday Night Live.

Hyden coming back to Jost and Johansson dating again and again in that article is really lame, but he's clearly a fan of his show (his baseball club is otm and how I feel about SNL, albeit as a much more casual fan/observer). Can't say I disagree with much else, I didn't know Jost was an Ivy League boy, that changes things considerably imo.

Chevy Chase made his SNL bones a host of Weekend Update and he was pretty bad, too.

The smug preppy asshole is a dependable comic persona, and while I don't think that Colin Jost is its best current practitioner (that'd be Anthony Jeselnik), he plays the part pretty well, and I enjoy him (and Che) on Update most of the time.
