harrington gave a hilariously blank performance in andy samberg's 7 days in hell.

I'm never likely to watch SNL as it's not shown in the UK, but from what I can tell from this tweet, fuck them all forever

I mean, you get that it's a comedy show.

Yeah that May sketch was o_O
― DJI, Monday, 8 April 2019 14:36 (seven years ago)
i do get that it's a comedy show, yes, thanks

the political comedy during this administration has been dire, a, umm, tremendous missed opportunity

Mikey Day is irritating me particularly tonight

I love that every Emma Stone episode has at least one sketch with the word "lube" in it

Kat Morgan@ktkm·Apr 7Replying to @nbcsnlSo true. Wonderful tribute to a woman who didn't create Brexit but is forced to deal with it.

SNL's politics are conservative/reactionary, just like any org with a rich 74-yo Democrat at the helm

I love the AV Club's SNL recap/reviews because the dude who writes them is literally enraged, every week, that he had to take 90 minutes out of his week to watch jokes that were not about how Donald Trump is the most evil person in human history and should be subject to mob execution.
― grawlix (unperson), Sunday, 14 April 2019 14:44 (seven years ago)
The Deirdre/Jared short should've been in the first hour.
― Yerac, Sunday, 14 April 2019 14:44 (seven years ago)
another dire episode with maybe two funny bits. I'm old and have no idea who BTS are but I agree with teenagers across the world that they were the best thing on the show.

Michael Che defended his co-host with a foul-mouthed twitter attack on the writer of this article
― curmudgeon, Saturday, 20 April 2019 04:02 (seven years ago)
che and jost are both terrible. che just thinks being mean-spirited and mumbly is edgy humor, but it just makes him a dickhead who is difficult to understand
― be the 2 chainz you want 2 see in the world (m bison), Saturday, 20 April 2019 04:04 (seven years ago)
Che probably didn’t like the line in the article about him being only slightly funnier than Jost.
― curmudgeon, Saturday, 20 April 2019 04:11 (seven years ago)
A cool thing to do when you're famous is cuss out critics on twitter
― Simon H., Saturday, 20 April 2019 04:16 (seven years ago)
Kinda thin-skinned for someone in his line of work, and his response is not really funny either . But Lorne apparently likes both he and Jost, so they have nothing to worry about
― curmudgeon, Saturday, 20 April 2019 04:52 (seven years ago)
here is Che smearing @Steven_Hyden, who criticized Jost in Uproxx today https://t.co/AHg72RBr49 pic.twitter.com/tZjNHwiZmh— Seth Simons (@sasimons) April 20, 2019

I think che and jost are fine.

they are the worst WU hosts since colin quinn

I agree, but you gotta factor in the opportunity cost of who's not there/what you're missing
― rip van wanko, Saturday, 20 April 2019 20:50 (seven years ago)
That should be more of a factor when deciding whether or not to watch Saturday Night Live, rather than when deciding who should be on Saturday Night Live.
― shared unit of analysis (unperson), Saturday, 20 April 2019 20:54 (seven years ago)
wtf Jost is easily the best cast member besides McKinnon rn, not saying much but I like his watered down Norm MacDonald schtick fine. now I will read this article... "sucking off stray dogs" is a good line tbh
― flappy bird, Saturday, 20 April 2019 21:48 (seven years ago)
TS: Worst Scarlett Johansson decision: Ghost in the Shell or dating Colin Jost.
― Yerac, Saturday, 20 April 2019 22:01 (seven years ago)
Hyden coming back to Jost and Johansson dating again and again in that article is really lame, but he's clearly a fan of his show (his baseball club is otm and how I feel about SNL, albeit as a much more casual fan/observer). Can't say I disagree with much else, I didn't know Jost was an Ivy League boy, that changes things considerably imo.
― flappy bird, Saturday, 20 April 2019 22:20 (seven years ago)
baseball club analogy*
― flappy bird, Saturday, 20 April 2019 22:21 (seven years ago)
I saw a bunch of Ghost In The Shell on Hulu. It wasn't nearly as terrible as the cultural appropriation outrage police made it out to be. I hold her working with Woody Allen three times against her way more than GitS.
― shared unit of analysis (unperson), Saturday, 20 April 2019 22:54 (seven years ago)
dating Colin Jost.
Jesus christ Scarlett

also I think it's weird that anyone is so strongly anti-Che/Jost, they're about average when it comes to being shit at Weekend Update
Chevy Chase made his SNL bones a host of Weekend Update and he was pretty bad, too.
― A is for (Aimless), Sunday, 21 April 2019 02:53 (seven years ago)
The smug preppy asshole is a dependable comic persona, and while I don't think that Colin Jost is its best current practitioner (that'd be Anthony Jeselnik), he plays the part pretty well, and I enjoy him (and Che) on Update most of the time.
― Timothée Charalambides (cryptosicko), Sunday, 21 April 2019 03:16 (seven years ago)

― Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Thursday, 2 May 2019 19:56 (seven years ago)
It suddenly occurred to me how many SNL cast members of that era became afaict prominent Hollywood Republicans. Victoria Jackson, Dennis Miller, Rob Schneider, David Spade, Adam Sandler, even GE Smith, if his appearance at the RNC convention was anything to go on.
― Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 2 May 2019 20:40 (seven years ago)
i think Lovitz, too?
and you hate to hear it, but Norm's been on twitter stanning Jordan Peterson and Megan McCain. it's possible he's doing a bit, but i really don't think so.
― A-B-C. A-Always, B-Be, C-Chooglin (will), Thursday, 2 May 2019 20:46 (seven years ago)
yes lovitz too. norm is not doing a bit
― findom haddie (jim in vancouver), Thursday, 2 May 2019 20:48 (seven years ago)
wow -- i had no idea so many of these people were right-leaning (victoria jackson yes, but all of them? yikes!)
there is no "bit" funny enough to make stanning for jordan peterson and megan mccain amusing
jesus -- what is wrong with them?!
― weird woman in a bar (La Lechera), Thursday, 2 May 2019 20:49 (seven years ago)
i mean most white people their age are conservative so not that weird?
― findom haddie (jim in vancouver), Thursday, 2 May 2019 20:50 (seven years ago)
and quite a few of them are rich too
are they? "most white people their age"? is it really that bad?
― weird woman in a bar (La Lechera), Thursday, 2 May 2019 20:51 (seven years ago)
i think i know the answer i just feel horrified at the thought
norm is the biggest bummer but i take comfort in the fact that i haven't found him funny in years. so maybe his dipshit (srsly fucking Peterson?!?) conservatism sucked the comedy out of him. lovitz was the only other one on that list who's made me chuckle since like 1996 so eh whatevs.
now mike judge otoh :-(
― A-B-C. A-Always, B-Be, C-Chooglin (will), Thursday, 2 May 2019 20:57 (seven years ago)
not me, I still think Norm is funny and I liked his Netflix show
I give him a bit of a pass because he's pretty open about calling his views 'underdeveloped' and he avoids getting political in his comedy, but yeah it's kind of shitty. Should've figured as soon as I saw stuff like this
Scripture. Faith. Grace. Christ, Glory of God. Smart man says nothing is a miracle. I say everything is.— Norm Macdonald (@normmacdonald) October 31, 2017
