But for most of the time since the referendum Labour backing remain/revoke/2nd ref would have been too?

If a Brexit is unavoidable it would be better to not have the version directed by the ERG, no?

gyac, Thursday, 28 March 2019 20:28 (seven years ago)

the SNP published a white paper (two?) on compromise proposals and had compromise as their position in their GE17 manifesto?

PaulDananVEVO (||||||||), Thursday, 28 March 2019 20:31 (seven years ago)

The SNP have not once missed a chance to attack Labour in this Parliament

Sticks in the craw this given that the Tories are now the main opposition in Scotland, but it's what you expect from cunts like the Lib Dems and the SNP.

Don't Go Back to Brockville (Tom D.), Thursday, 28 March 2019 20:35 (seven years ago)

the snp manifesto was for a vote on independence when the Brexit terms were established, which seems very quaint now

( ͡☉ ͜ʖ ͡☉) (jim in vancouver), Thursday, 28 March 2019 20:37 (seven years ago)

ni voted remain sayin

fremme nette his simplicitte (darraghmac), Thursday, 28 March 2019 20:37 (seven years ago)

it makes sense though, in the current context, because it gives them an easily communicable position in a GE

PaulDananVEVO (||||||||), Thursday, 28 March 2019 20:37 (seven years ago)

If you don't spend every waking hour attacking the Tories and all they stand for you're dead to me tbh.

Don't Go Back to Brockville (Tom D.), Thursday, 28 March 2019 20:37 (seven years ago)

redmondite snp!

(does that even work, gyac?)

fremme nette his simplicitte (darraghmac), Thursday, 28 March 2019 20:38 (seven years ago)

they then put in amendment to the act that 40% of the total electorate had to vote for it, rather than a simple majority. it failed due to that amendment. it was a betrayal.

You mean like Remainers think should have happened in the EU Referendum?

Don't Go Back to Brockville (Tom D.), Thursday, 28 March 2019 20:39 (seven years ago)

... or something similar.

Don't Go Back to Brockville (Tom D.), Thursday, 28 March 2019 20:40 (seven years ago)

the UN later used it as a teaching example for anti democratic things not to do when you run a referendum

PaulDananVEVO (||||||||), Thursday, 28 March 2019 20:40 (seven years ago)

Yes, better off with a simple majority, no arguments there.

― Don't Go Back to Brockville (Tom D.

For two (three?) successive elections the SNP have openly stated they will do whatever it takes wrt coalitions to keep the Tories out of Downing Street. Labour have consistently rejected the possibility of working with them. In these days of hung parliaments and narrow majorities that means Labour keeps Tories in power.

Non, je ned raggette rien (onimo), Thursday, 28 March 2019 21:59 (seven years ago)

There's got to be a better Sarri than Arlene Foster.

why is everyone pretending that the political declaration is an agreement on the future relationship? it's not. it's a vague set of aspirations. future rlship would all have to be fought over later regardless!

He's been mostly right here though. Jfc Damian Hinds is awful isn't he?

A diplomatic note of today's meeting seen by @BuzzFeedNews says that in event of a no-deal exit, the EU will have three pre-conditions before starting trade talk.

One of them is the Northern Ireland backstop https://t.co/T7xYccLlWR pic.twitter.com/fyOdn0HUdR

Stet, you may know this already but the remain protestors are avoiding parliament today because the leave means leave crowd are getting there. Not sure what time you (or they) are getting there, but just a heads up in case it gets nasty.

gyac, Friday, 29 March 2019 08:13 (seven years ago)

There's 11 protests around Westminster apparently, two of them with Tommy Robinson.
