No idea, but when I was still modding last year, there was some discussion of him on the "why do people leave" thread. Someone registered under a name and IP location that seemed to match with him, flagged one of his own old homophobic posts, and then disappeared again.

I think a l lot of people thought Luna was fake but she seemed harmless (for the internet) at the time.

I missed all the actual Luna being exposed stuff, was it mainly off-board? I find it bizarre that anyone was taken in by 'hi, friend/family member here, poor luna is recovering so I'll pass on her messages' etc but I've read loads of stuff about irl scams over the years since then.

Is there a way to increase how many messages get shown before and after the “Skipping xxx messages...” point? Because if not that is numero uno on my ILX want list. Having to scroll through 4,800 posts of a 5,000-post thread just so I can see the start of the latest revive is not fun.

Here's how to do that:

1 - click permalink on the first post AFTER the cutoff (the one you want to scroll back from)
2 - On that new page where that post is the first post shown, decrease the number in the URL that's "bookmarkedmessageid=xxxxxx" Usually dropping it by 200 or 300 will be enough to get you back to where you want, sometimes you have to lower it by 1000 or so. So for instance your message the messageid=7083747, so if I were to lower that to 7083447 it would load messages starting 300 posts back. I believe that post number is site-wide, so that's "300 posts back" counting all posts made on ILX, not this thread.

i don't remember a luna underwear photo but there was a photo that she posted that iirc was a weirdly cropped, candid looking photo of a conventionally good-looking woman in her 20s out at nightclub partying. this didn't jibe with the nerdy shut-in vibe of the poster at all. but clearly excited some of the ilx men

I got friendly w Luna well before I saw any pics. When I saw the 1st one, the "at da club" pic, I somehow found the site where the originals were housed. When I told her I did, she freaked out, so I was pretty suspicious from then on.

so it's not entirely out of left field.

frames would be a lot harder. i've taken a look at the code and i saw no
trace of it. the only weird thing i saw was the layout of the old posts and
new posts being butchered, which probably happened when the transfer
over to nu-ilx happened.

also the <%! threadrevival %> is a charming quirk, probably carried over
from the old 90s forum days, which i vaguely recall seeing.

haha, i sometimes run some browsers in a sandbox, so
it depends where i'm logged in from. so it also makes it
easier to read what i'm writing. i know it messes things up
on zing. sorry for that.

correctly: the establishment of the ilx categories was the only good day's work i ever did here or anywhere, all lost now of course and that's good too

Which ilx poster has stepped away from the keyboard for a moment and gone on to greatest real-world success/notability (however subjectively that is measured) ?
