Yeah it was great wasn't it

cant call a fraction of a knee offside imo, benefit to attacker every time
― god knows i want to fp (darraghmac), Saturday, 2 March 2019 23:25 (five years ago) link
I'd agree even if it didn't benefit Utd
Smalling gets away with at least one blatant shirt pull in the box every game. I don't like it, but it seems to work for him
Young is just a disaster but Dalot seems to be coming along well so hopefully he can be phased out soon
― Number None, Saturday, 2 March 2019 23:30 (five years ago) link
anyway i know i harp on about the guy but that young tackle that gave away the equaliser fk....its not that it wasnt almost a 50/50 in terms of them both flying in but i mean....how close was he to following through to head height, or did i just see some funny angles?
the guy is going to hurt someone badly before he gets put out to pasture, reckless aggression is covering (somewhat) his deficiencies as a defender

Merseyside Derby is hard on the eyes

That rules Everton out of a late challenge for Man United's sixth spot
― FernandoHierro, Sunday, 3 March 2019 18:13 (five years ago) link
pretty shocking stuff from Liverpool really. They don't have a midfield, and if the front three aren't firing there's just nothing there
They've been bad more than they've been good this season tbh
― Number None, Sunday, 3 March 2019 18:16 (five years ago) link
A team challenging for titles on the basis of a good defence and a few hardworking cloggers in midfield - what a new and rare thing.
― FernandoHierro, Sunday, 3 March 2019 18:19 (five years ago) link
that's not really the narrative though is it

I feel fairly relaxed about it to be honest - they weren't going to win every game from a point ahead just as they prob don't even need to win every game from a point behind. Form could be better but we'll see how it goes.
― FernandoHierro, Sunday, 3 March 2019 18:26 (five years ago) link
nothing but good feelings here
It's pretty great being a Utd fan at the moment

I was just trying to give you a pleasant nostalgia for the Fergie days!
― FernandoHierro, Sunday, 3 March 2019 18:28 (five years ago) link
Tbh and this is cliche really - the huge overreaction at the end of the match is fairly ridiculous. Like "a disastrous blow" etc - even the raging about the performance from fans - Liverpool had enough good chances to win 3-0. The points tally and season so far is hard to question.
― FernandoHierro, Sunday, 3 March 2019 18:33 (five years ago) link
Just looking at the remaining fixtures and Liverpool have a bunch of matches coming up against some poor sides- Cardiff, Huddersfield, Newcastle and Spurs

yes
― god knows i want to fp (darraghmac), Sunday, 3 March 2019 18:57 (five years ago) link
I do think our run-in is slightly more favourable. There are nine games to go, who fucking knows. Alexander Ocasio-Chamberlain should make a difference too, he's playing in the reserves this week.
― FernandoHierro, Sunday, 3 March 2019 18:58 (five years ago) link
Southampton are being very obliging but we're a completely different and more purposeful team with Dele in it.
― Matt DC, Saturday, 9 March 2019 15:19 (five years ago) link
Southampton now winning. Genuinely can’t see a top four finish.

Genuinely can’t see a top four finish
resigned myself to that weeks ago but the fissures it's likely to expose are the bigger issue here. things like Dortmund just mask them

You fuckers moan about refs, well Prem ref Roger East just did our game coz it was on the telly and he was on a different fucking planet to the usual absolute shite. You absolutely don't know how good you have it

Felt sure we'd give them a game, painful to concede from there but point clear on 7th isn't bad
― Carpool Tunnel (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 10 March 2019 16:05 (five years ago) link
utd with an incredible move there, not quite getting the last bit right
― imago, Sunday, 10 March 2019 17:19 (five years ago) link
yeah, would have been one for the ages
Been the better team since the formation change, but Rashford is having a nightmare
I don't blame de Gea overly for the goal either. Xhaka looks he's shaping to curl it the other way and then cuts across it at the last minute
Be disappointed if we don't get a draw here.

was actually hoping for enough of a shellacking that Utd would go third on goal difference as it'd be overall beneficial for us I reckon. bleh
― Terry Major-Ball Will Tell You (DJ Mencap), Sunday, 10 March 2019 18:17 (five years ago) link
Until now I'd been rather complacently assuming that Arsenal would drop enough points against midtable opposition but I'm not so sure now.
― Matt DC, Sunday, 10 March 2019 18:22 (five years ago) link
I think they will
they haven't even been good today
