Madonna: Classic Or Dud

forrest drumpf (Eric H.), Thursday, 31 January 2019 01:24 (seven years ago)

who?

a Mets fan who gave up on everything in the mid '80s (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 31 January 2019 01:26 (seven years ago)

Morbs gets whatever's left over (probably "In This Life").

Timothée Charalambides (cryptosicko), Thursday, 31 January 2019 01:27 (seven years ago)

He can regale readers with his tales of lunches spent with Gershwin.

forrest drumpf (Eric H.), Thursday, 31 January 2019 01:27 (seven years ago)

I could've touched her when she and Sean Penn were in mid-grope in the summer of '86 (Metropolitan Opera House aisle after a Robin Williams stand-up show). Instead, I squeezed past. Walked on by, you might say.

I'm eating a quarter of a pink cookie and sipping cab and about to watch Morbs' beloved They All Laughed.

Acting Crazy (Instrumental) (jed_), Thursday, 31 January 2019 02:23 (seven years ago)

I don't know what that's a reference to but it's a reference to something, that's for sure.

Acting Crazy (Instrumental) (jed_), Thursday, 31 January 2019 02:23 (seven years ago)

i actually thought of "you never her" at work the other day and lol'd

clouds, Thursday, 31 January 2019 02:33 (seven years ago)

Acting Crazy (Instrumental) (jed_), Thursday, 31 January 2019 02:38 (seven years ago)

Acting Crazy (Instrumental) (jed_), Thursday, 31 January 2019 02:39 (seven years ago)

I turn 40 this year and am going to Palm Springs. Prove me wrong.

forrest drumpf (Eric H.), Friday, 1 February 2019 16:17 (seven years ago)

I'm in the library and it's sunny. Prove me wrong.

Your sweetie-pie-coo-coo I love ya (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 1 February 2019 16:18 (seven years ago)

I almost went to Palm Springs by accident a few years ago (we were headed for the Nixon Museum and made a wrong turn). "This is the desert," I said.

a Mets fan who gave up on everything in the mid '80s (Dr Morbius), Friday, 1 February 2019 16:22 (seven years ago)

I was in socal for a few days this week and met the lovely Joe G.

macropuente (map), Sunday, 3 February 2019 03:42 (seven years ago)

So nice!!! He is a true gentleman. Did everyone have a good weekend? The boof and I just had a life talk, it was oddly refreshing. We're thinking about "next steps."
Fuck life is weird!!!

surm, Monday, 4 February 2019 02:31 (seven years ago)

I spent the weekend basically watching all the Oscar nominated shorts. So my life is kind of what it’s always been?

forrest drumpf (Eric H.), Monday, 4 February 2019 02:56 (seven years ago)

That sounds wonderful. Any good views?

surm, Monday, 4 February 2019 03:33 (seven years ago)

Yeah, more dissertation work (but not enough), putting together an application package for a teaching gig in the Spring, plus I watched Happy as Lazaro (which I liked a lot). Lots of dog walking now that the cold snap is (temporarily?) over.

Eric: same question. I liked Fauve quite a bit, thought Bao and Animal Behaviour were kinda meh, and haven't seen any of the others.

Timothée Charalambides (cryptosicko), Monday, 4 February 2019 03:36 (seven years ago)

I flew to Boston to see my boo for 72h, it was so lovely, I love him so much

vision joanna newsom (Stevie D(eux)), Monday, 4 February 2019 14:24 (seven years ago)

A friend photographed me throwing a football yesterday afternoon.

Your sweetie-pie-coo-coo I love ya (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Monday, 4 February 2019 14:28 (seven years ago)

I made him watch Rent which he has never seen, which I didn't think he would enjoy but wanted his commentary on as a gay Gen-X filmmaker w his own brushes w addiction and it's basically a play written abt ppl like him but for a mainstream audience. He didn't hate it as much as either of us thought! But we both agreed that it was largely wack and v straight-white-male-gazy. He said it felt very USA Today.

vision joanna newsom (Stevie D(eux)), Monday, 4 February 2019 14:49 (seven years ago)

Fauve was awfully good. Detainment awful, thoroughly awful. The docs were all kind of middling this year, though I thought the aesthetic choices Black Sheep made were interesting.

I actually didn't watch the animated ones yet, not sure why I said "all" upthread.

forrest drumpf (Eric H.), Monday, 4 February 2019 15:07 (seven years ago)

I watched a Korean film at MoMA on Saturday night, then didn't go to a sex party bcz i was too tired,

a Mets fan who gave up on everything in the mid '80s (Dr Morbius), Monday, 4 February 2019 15:09 (seven years ago)

surm, Monday, 4 February 2019 20:25 (seven years ago)

I was looking through this old gay thread -- The Sun Is Shining For The First Time In Forever; We're Gay! Fagz Club Spring 2010 -- and ... we were all a lot nicer to each other back then.

zama roma ding dong (Eric H.), Monday, 4 February 2019 20:41 (seven years ago)

Except Morbs.

zama roma ding dong (Eric H.), Monday, 4 February 2019 20:44 (seven years ago)

Had these threads kept going, I would've known who else to invite to lunch a couple frigid Saturdays ago with Morbs and j0rdan

Your sweetie-pie-coo-coo I love ya (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Monday, 4 February 2019 20:49 (seven years ago)

3 is enuf in most situations

a Mets fan who gave up on everything in the mid '80s (Dr Morbius), Monday, 4 February 2019 21:02 (seven years ago)

totally concur, i actually prefer 2 for the most part, i have a pretty short attention span!

surm, Monday, 4 February 2019 22:49 (seven years ago)

nice and gray here today but someone needs to call the weather channel and have them turn this temperature down back where it belongs

surm, Tuesday, 5 February 2019 14:31 (seven years ago)

don't do it

a Mets fan who gave up on everything in the mid '80s (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 5 February 2019 15:15 (seven years ago)

Boo's been watching that ridiculous thing about Gianni Versace on tv
it's disturbing tbh

surm, Wednesday, 6 February 2019 16:46 (seven years ago)

Also overblown. Best episode concentrated on David Madson imo.

zama roma ding dong (Eric H.), Wednesday, 6 February 2019 17:17 (seven years ago)

yeah it's a little rushed or something, i dunno it could have been more interesting

surm, Wednesday, 6 February 2019 17:52 (seven years ago)

what's everyone got on tap for the weekend?

surm, Thursday, 7 February 2019 17:45 (seven years ago)

Dinner with friends, writing, cleaning the kitchen cabinets.

Your sweetie-pie-coo-coo I love ya (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Thursday, 7 February 2019 17:50 (seven years ago)
