Fuck me should've levelled it

moaty, boaty, big and bloaty (Noodle Vague), Monday, 14 January 2019 20:36 (seven years ago)

Bollocks

Probly a pen, despite the theatrics, but again the ref couldn't contain his excitement

moaty, boaty, big and bloaty (Noodle Vague), Monday, 14 January 2019 20:40 (seven years ago)

Shambles.

Doesn't the PL have the rule of "intent doesn't matter"? Ducth refs like to pretend they still hold up this rule. Because intention can't ever be determined? Would've saved Boly: regardless of intent, he struck the ball first. That's what matters.

It's all politics ffs

lbi's life of limitless european glamour (Le Bateau Ivre), Monday, 14 January 2019 20:41 (seven years ago)

Fernandinho's early yellow gives us possibilities I guess

I'll throw a party the day this serial fouling prick gets a second yellow

Number None, Monday, 14 January 2019 20:43 (seven years ago)

Boly's red seemed fair enough to me though

Number None, Monday, 14 January 2019 20:48 (seven years ago)

I've seen them given, like I said, bias plus grottiness plus cunt ref's give us nothing

moaty, boaty, big and bloaty (Noodle Vague), Monday, 14 January 2019 20:50 (seven years ago)

striking the ball first doesn't matter at all

ogmor, Monday, 14 January 2019 21:11 (seven years ago)

it's either dangerous or it's not

ogmor, Monday, 14 January 2019 21:11 (seven years ago)

Yes

This has been litigated

Number None, Monday, 14 January 2019 21:13 (seven years ago)

That's why I'm not arguing about getting the ball. His foot wasn't really high or off the ground tho.

moaty, boaty, big and bloaty (Noodle Vague), Monday, 14 January 2019 21:31 (seven years ago)

Love to fuck up from a set piece we do

moaty, boaty, big and bloaty (Noodle Vague), Monday, 14 January 2019 21:36 (seven years ago)

Intent is a lonely hunter, but I'm glad I got ogmor (back) into the epl thread :)

Kane is concerned he may not be fit for the first leg of the Champions League last-16 tie with Borussia Dortmund next month.

The 25-year-old has endured ankle problems in each of the last three years

yes yes he has ankle problems ie with reckless tackles that dont intend on breaking his fuckin foot off at the ankle but arent too fuckin bothered by the odds in the moment neither

each of his stints out were as a result of tackles that should have seen red imo and im not even sure any were given as fouls as the ball was there to be won.

thats why red cards arent based on intent or nicking the ball. because as it is the willingness to injure superior players is already rewarded enough in this league

topical mlady (darraghmac), Monday, 14 January 2019 23:25 (seven years ago)

I have no idea what this supposed foul on Kane even was. Certainly wasn't noted during the game

Number None, Monday, 14 January 2019 23:45 (seven years ago)

It was noted on the radio at least - right at the very end.

Tim, Monday, 14 January 2019 23:46 (seven years ago)

I mean I wouldn't put it past Phil Jones. Just don't remember seeing anything

Number None, Monday, 14 January 2019 23:47 (seven years ago)

it was in the extra time after extra time id been crying for

not malicious but clumsy and full impact

topical mlady (darraghmac), Monday, 14 January 2019 23:52 (seven years ago)

sounds about right

Number None, Monday, 14 January 2019 23:53 (seven years ago)

Quite incredible there is no footage* of this injury in this day and age.

(there might be shoddy footage on twitter filmed by some fan but I'm not going there)

a pleasure to share the barclays premier league with you all. city's depth is upsetting and now kev's back blammin it about it's easy to imagine them winning every remaining game of the league. laporte is so dominant, and city's lateral movement so good for him to thread balls through, he has been outstanding this season

ogmor, Tuesday, 15 January 2019 01:28 (seven years ago)

Boly's challenge to me is on a sliding scale from Van Dijk's challenge on Insigne in the Napoli game to Kompany's challenge in the Liverpool game.

Van Dijk was booked and some said he should've had a yellow, but he was hardly out of control in that he went down on one knee and in one slick movement, was back on his feet... but his follow through did happen to plough into Insigne's calf/shin.

Boly was a very pointed one leg out, one leg tucked tackle at a fair lick, got the ball cleanly and his foot just happen to line up with where Bernardo had planted his.

Kompany's was completely wild two feet up, two feet in the air lunge, gets a faint toe on the ball and plants Salah running through on goal in the shin with his studs.

There's a world which says they're all reds, and I don't think any of us want to live in that world. A much fairer summation would be that only Kompany deserved a red.

Anthony "I'm A Manc" Taylor was never sending the City captain off at home in the first half of The Big Match. Give that to Michael "Trashcan Heart" Oliver and maybe there'd be a difference.

Pawson's a shit ref, but probably not even the worst one.

in twelve parts (lamonti), Tuesday, 15 January 2019 07:31 (seven years ago)

*should've had a red, in the first example I meant

in twelve parts (lamonti), Tuesday, 15 January 2019 07:32 (seven years ago)

Nuno's accepted the red, i agree it's not controversial enough to argue about in the cold light of morning.

moaty, boaty, big and bloaty (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 15 January 2019 07:34 (seven years ago)

all of those sound like reds to me

topical mlady (darraghmac), Tuesday, 15 January 2019 08:55 (seven years ago)

Looking back on it, that van Dijk tackle is worse than I remember at the time.

at least that turdulent freeloader has ruled himself out of the Town job, he's waiting for a gravy train not a gruel wagon.

calzino, Tuesday, 15 January 2019 10:47 (seven years ago)

Davide Moyez is looking for a job, I believe.

Never Turn Your Back On Virginia Woolf (Tom D.), Tuesday, 15 January 2019 10:52 (seven years ago)

there is some packing job vacancies at Foxes Biscuits or Ossett FC are looking for a kit-washer if he's interested.

calzino, Tuesday, 15 January 2019 11:01 (seven years ago)

the below the radar and much more convincing rumour for next manager is some Swiss dude nobody has heard of and I can't even remember his name.

calzino, Tuesday, 15 January 2019 11:03 (seven years ago)

even our oafish chairman has realised most brit managers are a dead loss.

calzino, Tuesday, 15 January 2019 11:05 (seven years ago)

new manager getting announced after Man City on Sunday, be a nice touch to announce it after a 6-0 home dicking.

calzino, Tuesday, 15 January 2019 11:16 (seven years ago)

I'm getting a lump in my throat reading Wagner's farewell message, even just putting aside the miracle there has never been such a class act at the club.

calzino, Tuesday, 15 January 2019 11:58 (seven years ago)

apparently Jan Siewert (Borussia Dortmund u23's) is going to be the Wagner replacement and had already agreed to take the job in the summer. That Big Sam scare yesterday ruined my evening.

calzino, Tuesday, 15 January 2019 14:54 (seven years ago)

Another Dortmund U23s coach? You've got to respect that kind of consistency.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 15 January 2019 15:21 (seven years ago)

or complete lack of imagination! Tbf Norwich are paying off for keeping the faith with Farke.

calzino, Tuesday, 15 January 2019 15:24 (seven years ago)

Had a bit of a chat with a Norwich fan last night, he wasn't getting ahead of himself

moaty, boaty, big and bloaty (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 15 January 2019 15:26 (seven years ago)

yeah it's one of them tight as fuck seasons where anyone could go up, sadly including L**ds.

calzino, Tuesday, 15 January 2019 15:28 (seven years ago)

Jan Siewert, Borussia Dortmund's U23s coach, is not under consideration for the Huddersfield Town Job.

[Sky Sports]

now ppl are saying Jokanovic is nailed on.. i give up - just give Steve Evans another chance ffs!

calzino, Tuesday, 15 January 2019 15:35 (seven years ago)

Shame Leverkusen just snapped up Peter Bosz, if you're going down you might as well do it playing ultra-attacking fitba.

lbi's life of limitless european glamour (Le Bateau Ivre), Tuesday, 15 January 2019 16:02 (seven years ago)

he might have felt he was not quite yet ready for the challenge of managing such a massive club, even though the lure of living in W Yorkshire would have totally sealed the deal.

calzino, Tuesday, 15 January 2019 16:33 (seven years ago)

Wouldn't it just! Honestly think most managers would adjust easily, grow to love it even.

There can and never will be a worse mismatch between manager and city than Moyes in San Sebastian.

lbi's life of limitless european glamour (Le Bateau Ivre), Tuesday, 15 January 2019 17:27 (seven years ago)

Believe the ilx-departed Ronan once toyed with the idea to write a book about that. That idea haunts me on a regular basis.

lbi's life of limitless european glamour (Le Bateau Ivre), Tuesday, 15 January 2019 17:27 (seven years ago)

Not totally departed I'd say

Number None, Tuesday, 15 January 2019 17:39 (seven years ago)

Kane out until March, then. Phil Jones is a lump.

Good cop, Babcock (Chinaski), Tuesday, 15 January 2019 17:41 (seven years ago)

He's as much a danger to himself as others tbfttl

Number None, Tuesday, 15 January 2019 17:43 (seven years ago)

Oof, harsh re Kane.

lbi's life of limitless european glamour (Le Bateau Ivre), Tuesday, 15 January 2019 17:44 (seven years ago)

Alexander-Arnold out, too. My fantasy team is fucked.

Good cop, Babcock (Chinaski), Tuesday, 15 January 2019 17:44 (seven years ago)

llorente is gonna come good

topical mlady (darraghmac), Tuesday, 15 January 2019 17:56 (seven years ago)

Dele or Lucas false #9 I reckon.
