I can see it because Koch supports immigration, hates the wall, etc.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 4 January 2019 18:17 (seven years ago)

Coulter is a value-free, opportunistic contrarian, she sees the way the wind is blowing and has decided that it's time to start stoking conservatears.

Moved into a duplex with her mom iirc

fuck the NRA (Neanderthal), Friday, 4 January 2019 18:26 (seven years ago)

well, makes me think that her wealth really was more in the form of, eg, paychecks from publishers and w/e, and not from capital gains/investments/etc ("wealth")

gbx, Friday, 4 January 2019 18:27 (seven years ago)

lol there is not a single person jumping on the Trump Train because of this who wasn't on already

A libertarian paradise!

Schumer now says Trump "said he'd keep the government closed for a very long period of time -- months or even YEARS."

Can't wait until people realize that means they won't be getting their tax refunds.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 4 January 2019 18:51 (seven years ago)

The Coulter/Jimmie Walker possible coupledom is the most interesting thing about her.

Yerac, Friday, 4 January 2019 18:51 (seven years ago)

During the Nixon years of the Vietnam war there was a theory floating around that he was trying to convince the North Vietnamese he was crazy enough to nuke Hanoi, but only as a subtle negotiating tactic in order to drive a harder bargain at the Paris peace talks, iow Nixon was 'crazy like a fox'. As it turned out, the North Vietnamese called his bluff, played Nixon like a fiddle, and won the war because they had a winning strategy and all Nixon had was his willingness to drop millions of tons of bombs indiscriminately, killing whoever was underneath them.

Trump's whole negotiating strategy seems very Nixonian in this regard.

dang I hadn't give much thought to AOC until now & wow she's hilarious & just what the Dems need for responding to the idiot party, while having actual values besides that sweet lobby cash à la Biden et al

L'assie (Euler), Friday, 4 January 2019 19:02 (seven years ago)

Anyway Trump's rambling now.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 4 January 2019 19:05 (seven years ago)

xp yeah it's really neat how AOC went from "she sounds great but can't possibly win Crowley's district" to "awesome that she won but she's probably gonna tone it down" to the master troll w/ awesome policy goals that she is now

frogbs, Friday, 4 January 2019 19:08 (seven years ago)

Trump admits that a steel wall would be more expensive than a non-steel wall, but he says he probably wants to do a steel wall "because I really feel the other side feels better about it." (The other side does not feel substantially better about it.)

In Rose Garden, Trump casually says former presidents have privately told him they should have built the wall.

What could Benjamin Harrison have told him??

Your sweetie-pie-coo-coo I love ya (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 4 January 2019 19:29 (seven years ago)

I assume these 'former presidents' are nothing more than puppets crudely fashioned from the takeout containers piling up as he bums around the WH with nothing to do but eat and hallucinate.

Do Me a Flavor (Old Lunch), Friday, 4 January 2019 19:29 (seven years ago)

I'll bet he thinks Col. Sanders is a former president.

Do Me a Flavor (Old Lunch), Friday, 4 January 2019 19:30 (seven years ago)

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Friday, 4 January 2019 19:31 (seven years ago)

Hooray!

"I did say that. Absolutely," Trump says, when Major Garrett asks if he threatened a shutdown of "months or even years," as Schumer recounted.

Trump is now talking about "the military version of eminent domain" to build the wall

— Ben Jacobs (@Bencjacobs) January 4, 2019

Ned Raggett, Friday, 4 January 2019 20:00 (seven years ago)

Aw.

Asked if he'd ask landlords to go easy on federal workers not getting paid right now, Trump says, "I think they will...I think that happens. Hey, I've been a landlord for a long time...they work with people." Pressed, he eventually says he would indeed tell them to go easy.

— Daniel Dale (@ddale8) January 4, 2019

Ned Raggett, Friday, 4 January 2019 20:02 (seven years ago)

Please please please when the time comes can we indulge his nigh-erotic obsession with walls and give him the 'Black Cat'-ing he so clearly desires?

Trump's executive order to tell Landlords that they are required to maybe consider possibly being lenient on rent payments from federal employees, y'know, if they can.

fuck the NRA (Neanderthal), Friday, 4 January 2019 20:12 (seven years ago)

giving Texas back to Mexico would probably solve a lot of this nation's problems tbh

frogbs, Friday, 4 January 2019 20:12 (seven years ago)

Landlords are ime total bros who absolutely have the best interests of their tenants at heart. Caring about people is why they got into the game. Why just look at our president.
