Looking through my old New Yorkers--oh, here's a Toobin article from May about how Dems talking about impeachment are going to make them lose the midterms.

I would argue that 'motherfucker' doesn't so much undermine Tlaib's case as it understates just how motherfuckery the motherfucker in question is.

BTW, Rashida Tlaib won one of the true upsets of the 2018 primaries, in large part because multiple black candidates split the vote in a majority black district.

Roberts, 84, will make the announcement around 11:15 E.T. in his home state. Roberts, who has served in the Senate since 1997, will announce his retirement after months of speculation.

So...Kansas has a newly elected Democratic governor (Laura Kelly), but she doesn't take office until January 14. Is Roberts retiring immediately, thus allowing the current Republican governor to appoint someone to fill the vacancy? (Unlike Arizona, Kansas doesn't require that the appointed senator be from the same political party as the departing senator.)

Oh, never mind, probably just retiring at the end of his current term, which ends in 2020.
