Michelle Wie at California Pizza Kitchen last night. Girl is fucking TALL. Was wearing golf clothing, so it was easy to notice her. That, and she's on the news every night in Honolulu.

researching ur life (grady), Monday, 23 October 2006 17:45 (nineteen years ago)

apparently jeffrey "neck tattoo dude" from project runway was at the mojave 3 show at bowery ballroom saturday night.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 23 October 2006 17:47 (nineteen years ago)

Dylan Moran on Denmark Street. Dude is so iconic - trudging around in the rain lookin' mildly torqued is so his steelo.

Badrock Example (Barima), Monday, 23 October 2006 19:43 (nineteen years ago)

Neil Hannon at the NPL last night in Glasgow. He was standing outside having a fag, and I was all "ooh, that guy looks really like Neil Hannon" until someone pointed out to me that it was Neil Hannon. He was sitting at the same table as Stuart Murdoch and a couple of ILXors.

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 28 October 2006 15:10 (nineteen years ago)

Julia Stiles out on Friday night, not dancing to my friend's enjoyable electro set.

Badrock Example (Barima), Monday, 30 October 2006 09:10 (nineteen years ago)

Ex-NME journo turned football pundit and media mogul Stuart Cosgrove at Kokuryo, Argyle Street on Saturday night.

Billy Dods (Billy Dods), Monday, 30 October 2006 13:52 (nineteen years ago)

Were you in Glasgow? (or is your eyesight just really good)

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 30 October 2006 13:59 (nineteen years ago)

Yes! And my eyesight is terrible.

Billy Dods (Billy Dods), Monday, 30 October 2006 14:03 (nineteen years ago)

I saw Stuart Cosgrove somewhere quite recently, but I can't remember where. That's not much use, is it?

Glasgow must be teeming with celeb-types, and I never see any of them. I did see Rab Douglas out doing his shopping once.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 30 October 2006 14:09 (nineteen years ago)

I was tempted to go up to him and ask him about Mark S. But thought he'd probably think I was a bit of a sad case, which would sadly be true.

Billy Dods (Billy Dods), Monday, 30 October 2006 14:17 (nineteen years ago)

You should have asked him if himself and Tam really do nick their banter from the Scottish Football Predictions thread on here.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 30 October 2006 14:20 (nineteen years ago)

I think I saw Don Letts in Fopp a couple of weeks ago.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Monday, 6 November 2006 09:02 (nineteen years ago)

An uncomfortable-looking Natalie Portman being shoved through a Saturday night/Sunday morning clubbing crowd at 2am over the weekend.

Badrock Example (Barima), Monday, 6 November 2006 15:48 (nineteen years ago)

Double sighting at the Grove over the weekend...
- Jennifer Tilly (who is roughly 230% more attractive in real life than she is on camera)
- Evan Handler (Harry from Sex And The City)

Elvis Telecom (Chris Barrus), Monday, 6 November 2006 17:15 (nineteen years ago)

Philip Glass buying garlic bread at pizza place on second avenue around 9:30 pm last night!!!!

roc u like a § (ex machina), Thursday, 9 November 2006 15:07 (nineteen years ago)

I see Don Letts quite a lot. He lives in my part of NW London -see him, his wife and kid strolling through a small local park on Sunday afternoons. He wears a lot of Stussy and has one of those big woolly hats for his dreads.

Treblekicker (treblekicker), Thursday, 9 November 2006 15:39 (nineteen years ago)

Julia Stiles out on Friday night, not dancing to my friend's enjoyable electro set.

she was saving her first dance

PS wtf parties are you going to?

2 american 4 u (blueski), Thursday, 9 November 2006 15:50 (nineteen years ago)

Harry Hamlin was on my flight do DC two weeks ago. Upon reporting this to my friends, saying "You know...Harry Hamlin...the guy from LA Law that wasn't Corbin Bernsen," I was scolded with "No. He was Perseus. He killed Medusa and the Kraken, and then rode away on Pegasus."

B.L.A.M. (Big Loud Mountain Ape), Thursday, 9 November 2006 16:04 (nineteen years ago)

I just saw Lily Cole on Charlotte Street. And you know, she isn't too thin, she just has a teenager body. She looks pretty healthy.

He was standing outside having a fag, and I was all "ooh, that guy looks really like Neil Hannon" until someone pointed out to me that it was Neil Hannon.

I did this to Simon Amstell at a party. Except I was talking to him without the faintest idea who he was and then managed to slur 'That's it! You look just like that Simon Amstell off Popworld!' Lauren was with me and equally drunk and popped up and shouted 'You're the Eight Out Of Ten Cats dude!' at him. He moved away.

Anna (Anna), Thursday, 9 November 2006 16:24 (nineteen years ago)

I saw Simon Amstell waiting for a bus on New Oxford Street - he was probably going to the same cool party that Anna and Lauren were at, and thus by this post you can tell what sort of life I lead compared to Anna's glam life - HEIGH HO!! Anyway I tried to take a sneaky photo but mostly just got his t-shirt and a mass of hair. Pfft.

And who is Lily Cole anyway - I am wary of googling female slebs anymore, have I mentioned I hate the internet recently?

Bhumibol Adulyadej (Lucretia My Reflection), Thursday, 9 November 2006 16:31 (nineteen years ago)

Lily Cole is a young model type who kept getting mentioned in the great 'Are Models Too Thin?' debate. (Yes, what is there to debate, yes)

Anna (Anna), Thursday, 9 November 2006 17:29 (nineteen years ago)

Neil Hannon at the NPL last night in Glasgow. He was standing outside having a fag, and I was all "ooh, that guy looks really like Neil Hannon" until someone pointed out to me that it was Neil Hannon.

I know I've repeated this on ILx before (perhaps upthread) but it's still funny. Houston movie theater, see tall, bald man all in black, companion says, jokingly, 'look it's Billy Corgan, haha.' Of course, man turns around and is Billy Corgan, doh.

Sam rides the beat like a bicycle (Molly Jones), Thursday, 9 November 2006 17:36 (nineteen years ago)

I once stood outside the Barrowlands in Glasgow after a Smashing Pumpkins gig as one of those dodgy blokes who sell cheap and nasty knock-off Tshirt tried to flog James Iha a bootleg Pumpkins Tshirt to the amusement of the gathered crowd, refusing to give up even when Iha pointed himself out on the picture on the Tshirt. I was pleasantly surprised Iha gave him the time of day, let alone not punch the fuck out of him for trying to undercut his merchandising profits by flogging Tshirts for ten quid less then you could buy them in the gig.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 9 November 2006 18:56 (nineteen years ago)

This one was just ... weird: Chris Connelly, formerly of MTV News and apparently now of ESPN, wandering in front of my house and looking confused.

(Celeb sightings in my immediate neighborhood are always thrillingly minor, especially now that Julia Stiles is gone: my favorite is still seeing one of the guys from Chromeo over and over and wondering if I'd ever see him with the other guy from Chromeo, and then one day seeing the two of them driving together in a tiny Volkswagen full of moving boxes.)

nabisco (nabisco), Thursday, 9 November 2006 19:05 (nineteen years ago)

Oh, I forgot two fairly rubbish sightings in the last month: Carluccio outside Carluccio's on Neal Street and George Wylie in the Collins Gallery in Glagow. And today I sent an email to Tony Benn without realising it, and he replied!

Mädchen (Madchen), Thursday, 9 November 2006 19:21 (nineteen years ago)

That is good, about Tony Benn.

Yes, Don Letts was wearing his hat. I like Don Letts.

It is about time I saw some more celebs.

Was it the bus stop outside Argos, Starry? I need to get some context.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller 68), Friday, 10 November 2006 08:52 (nineteen years ago)

Rob Brydon on City Road just north of Old St. roundabout, earlier. Woot.

2 american 4 u (blueski), Monday, 13 November 2006 13:06 (nineteen years ago)

Glad to hear it.

Mädchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 15:59 (nineteen years ago)

A friend saw Amy Winehouse on the 134, sitting at the back singing one of her own songs to herself really loudly.

chap (chap), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:01 (nineteen years ago)

The 134 is obv. a good bus for celebs

Tom D. (Dada), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 16:02 (nineteen years ago)

Elvis Telecom (Chris Barrus), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 21:02 (nineteen years ago)

Gene Wilder(!) at the Grove on Thursday night

(to be fair though, he was in Barnes & Noble for a book signing)

Elvis Telecom, Saturday, 10 March 2007 18:40 (nineteen years ago)

Paul Daniels in Dublin airport. He was coming out of arrivals at the same time as a bunch of other expensively-dressed guys, who all looked like they might be on their way to a poker game or something.

accentmonkey, Saturday, 10 March 2007 18:47 (nineteen years ago)

steve coogan, who sheepishly signed an autograph for me at the weekend in tesco.

darraghmac, Saturday, 10 March 2007 20:40 (nineteen years ago)

there's a fairly good chance that the guy i saw today at the grove who looked like brad pitt was in fact brad pitt. fancy seeing tyler durden on my way to another fincher film!

(btw if anyone happens upon a jakey g sighting, please trap him in a shoebox and call me immediately)

get bent, Sunday, 11 March 2007 04:28 (nineteen years ago)

Paris Hilton in Venice, shooting some commercial on the street we were walking down. She was wobbling a bit, like a Thunderbird.

^@^, Sunday, 11 March 2007 16:09 (nineteen years ago)

The bloke who plays Nathan Barley on Regent Street.

DOG the bounty hunter and his wife @ costco. We were eyeing the selections in the fish department at the same time. Contents of DOG's cart: One Weight Watcher's bathroom scale.

(this hardly counts since its the second time ive seen him and the 3rd time ive seen his wife.)

g®▲Ðұ, Monday, 12 March 2007 05:16 (nineteen years ago)

and the first time you've seen that scale!

s1ocki, Monday, 12 March 2007 05:47 (nineteen years ago)

sorry, i know that doesn't even make any sense but the situation seemed to call out for a punchline like that.

how about...

"and the first time you've ever seen a scale!"

can we do a re-do?

s1ocki, Monday, 12 March 2007 05:48 (nineteen years ago)

maybe a punchline about fish?

g®▲Ðұ, Monday, 12 March 2007 05:51 (nineteen years ago)

Oh yeah, also in Jan we saw R*n Jeremy at the AVN afterparty - too scared and awed to say hello.

moley, Monday, 12 March 2007 06:08 (nineteen years ago)

soleil moon frye, the boyfriend from ugly betty

冷明, Monday, 12 March 2007 07:01 (nineteen years ago)

I thought I saw Trent Raznor in Streatham this morning. And did a double take thinking, what on EARTH would he be doing in Streatham? But then Tim Windmill told me that apparently loads of Merkin bands (especially ones playing at the Academy) go down to Streatham to score dope. So go figure. Still no idea if it was actually him or not. He was certainly *short* enough.
