Oh, that's okay, I guess. Was looking forward to my episode today...

after next week it's off again until January, then the last three episodes run b2b with new Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Office repeats, presumably from the Schur era

That's.... usually not a good sign for a show, no? Burning off episodes like that? I know it hasn't been renewed for S4 yet, but that doesn't make me feel good about the future.

best thing that could happen to this show would be to go out on top. would be great if they wrapped after another season... or this one.

On WTF Kristen was talking about Schur has had the whole storyline mapped out in his head from day 1. I thought she said it was a 5 season plan, but maybe I'm conflating it with something else.

Sitting on a mere three remaining episodes so that you can program a night around three shows by the same bloke, one of which you've just rescued from the network that cancelled it, does not indicate a lack of faith in that bloke, imo.

(One does wonder what the plan is after the third week, though.)

Everything about that episode was fantastic. D'Arcy Carden is a national treasure.

it's hard to believe that this show continues to get better with almost every episode.

I was kind of hoping that they'd discover no one had EVER gotten into the Good Place.

This was a great episode. A brilliant performance from D'Arcy Carden. It really connected in the way that the best of the episodes did.

Yeah, that was some kind of high spot.

Such a genius episode, and you could tell Carden was really having fun with the Jason impression.

So if they're finally in the real Good Place is it all going to be based on perceptions of idyllic society from 500 years ago? Hope so!

(I would suggest that by the established rules so far it isn't odd that Doug isn't getting into heaven - all of his actions are directed at that end)

This episode contradicts some of even that though, because it says once a value's set it's automatically applied and some of the activities pre-dates a concept of a good or bad place (I would guess, since we'll never know whether God and the Afterlife were our first sentient thoughts.)

it's always been close, but i feel like chidi has become Too Perfect

rule changes kinda got to me last episode ("the system is rigged by the bad place" -> "the system didn't adjust with the increasing complexity of human life" kinda lame and obvious but fine) but last night's episode was excellent, hopefully they settle down a little on the super expository plot shifts

well ppl often fail to realize the implications of powerful arguments when they start thinking that they sound like a cool way to dunk on ppl

inadvertent only in the sense that the show diagnoses this as simply "modern life" and not the product of a specific set of historical processes at work. which makes sense because it's a sitcom and not an undergraduate lecture series
