The second Korean film there is a remake of the first and is sometimes given the same title in English, but yeah, confusing.;

Actually slightly annoyed I forgot to watch another film with the titular star of the that second film before it expired from Mubi.

James - the first Korean film I listed was Park Chan Wook's The Handmaiden. I take it you mean The Housemaid (2010, Sang-soo Im) is a remake of The Housemaid (1960, Ki-young Kim)?

So make that 5 film/television pieces to get mixed up.

Thanks. Forgot about the Korean Handmaiden, obviously, and the extra confusion it was contributing

Gil Evans (Miles Davis arranger) vs. Bill Evans (Miles Davis pianist) vs. Bill Evans (Miles Davis saxophonist)

Andrew Farrell, Monday, 4 February 2019 15:26 (seven years ago)

I don't ever even think much about Bill Evans - saxophonist. It's Bill Evans the pianist who also played in an earlier Miles group who is top Bill!

calzino, Monday, 4 February 2019 15:41 (seven years ago)

oops, didn't catch all of last paste.

calzino, Monday, 4 February 2019 15:44 (seven years ago)

Yusuf Lateef also a former Bill Evans (and I think recorded under that name early on)!

Ward Fowler, Monday, 4 February 2019 15:48 (seven years ago)

In my experience lots of ppl also get Coleman Hawkins and Ornette Coleman mixed up

Ward Fowler, Monday, 4 February 2019 15:49 (seven years ago)

I wouldn't, but am a subnormal freak!
xp
bloody hell, didn't know that. Even record shop headz might have been confused by that one.

Jack Warden and Jack Weston.

I don't actually get the people confused, but their names (and timelines) are close enough that I started a movie tonight waiting for Jack Warden to show up until Jack Weston did, and I thought "Right--Jack Weston."
