Increasingly Familiar Apple Lust Objects for 2016 and onwards

I prefer reading comics on my iPad mini 3 to my iPad Pro 10.5”. On the pro, the scans get big enough that they suffer if they aren’t super hi res

Any iPad with a retina screen and 128gb or more of storage will serve u well as a comics reader imo

For a company that prides itself on design, I actually don't find them comfortable to use at all. Any intensive tasks are much more comfortable to do on a laptop, and anything less intensive I'd rather just do on my phone.

otm, after that initial period of subscribing to magazines i never got around to reading there didn’t seem to be any point. maybe as they get close to being an actual macbook proxy for most people (now?) they’ll find a place for most people.

for me the clincher is not being to type on your lap without it all going everywhere. the smart keyboards are pretty solid but it’s still precarious.

I love the pro I bought last year, but I find I don’t use it as much as I’d like because I cannot use it around my 5yo.

in messages conversations used to be in bubbles/rounded but something changed and they're all ugly squares now. anyone know how to change it back?

btw, for ppl with touch bar MacBooks: mine froze the other day, and I had no idea what to do because there's no power button... there actually is, it's on the right end of the touch bar. it's there. maybe this is old news. i thought that was cool.

I like using the TinyPic keyboard for ilx image uploads. Uploads it and created the bbcode for you, all from zing.

I have one. I wear it sometimes. It’s best for letting you see who’s texting you without taking your phone out of your pocket.

It’s also great when you have your baby as the wallpaper and said baby always asks to look at it and starts thinking that everybody’s watch has a photo of her in it.

My idea for the watch is to get the lte version, take off the band, put it in my pocket, and use it as a mini phone / music streaming thingy

the thing about the apple devaluation and the link in that with people not buying so many iPhones now is that apple always (usually) made beautiful objects but now that a phone is all or only screen there are not many ways in which an iPhone is a cherishable object over something else that all or only screen, is there?

my SE as a thing to hold and have is better, more lovely imo, than an equivalent android would be but an XR is no different than something else that is only a screen. If it's only-screen then it's only a screen.

i’m still using an 8+ and i legit forget that it even has bezels.

the race to eliminate the notch is more interesting than the race to fill the phone face with screen imo. when the notch problem is solved once and for all, this era of notchy phones is going to look totally ridiculous.

Never want to upgrade from my 6s really. Although I did just order a mini headphone amp so that would obviate the need for the headphone jack around the house.

It's extra annoying because Apple's current wireless keyboards are pretty great - can't you just put that keyboard in it, or merge the goddamn teams, or something...
