It is footage of a 4,000 person (?) migrant caravan originating from Honduras that is currently in Guatemala near the Honduras/Guatemala border.

Can't quite figure the logistics of 4,000 people marching 1400 miles to the border in Texas (or 2300 miles to AZ, or 2600 miles to CA). Right wingers are claiming that the whole operation is Soros-funded of course.

For perspective, this is (at it's shortest route) claiming these folks are marching on foot the same distance as Dallas to NYC.

we are well past the point where any of this really matters

2020's comin up and the democrats shouldn't water it down. the takeaway from that times tax story wasn't that he inherited a bunch of money and thus was not "self-made." it's that he was a criminal from the start. and his entire business career was based on swindling people.

This is true, and who cares? The point isn't to convert Trump voters. They're ~30% of the electorate and will stay that way as long as there's a Trump (or a Steve King, probably, in 2024) to vote for. The point is to convince other people, who have not previously voted, to vote against Trump or against whatever Republican is running.

This misses the point that a very large portion of the US electorate pays only the tiniest fraction of their attention to politics. You have to pound them with the same information over and over for it to penetrate. That's what the Republican disinformation apparatus does - and after the 18th or 26th repetition, it becomes a fact, whether it is true or not.

Congressional Dems don't have the antiestablishment bona fides to claim a moral high ground on corruption. They'll make the attack and Trump will give them a stupid nickname and makena false equivalency and say something freshly racist about Maxine Waters because he has a walnut brain and that narrative Gambit will land hollow

I think movements ought to be doing that--I don't think the broad public trusts any given sitting Dem to have a clean nose, distrust being historically high.
