Herman G. Neuname, Thursday, 3 July 2008 14:28 (eighteen years ago)

It's started pissing down here. I dont wanna have to wear a coat, it's too warm! Argh

Herman G. Neuname, Thursday, 3 July 2008 14:28 (eighteen years ago)

i've just been wandering around the city centre getting soaked. as soon as i got home, it stopped raining. fuxxake.

grimly fiendish, Thursday, 3 July 2008 14:34 (eighteen years ago)

The Pastels are support tonight. Onstage at 7.45pm.
MBV are onstage 9pm (approx) and off at 11.
(I phoned up the barras to ask)

Herman G. Neuname, Thursday, 3 July 2008 14:40 (eighteen years ago)

That's a much longer set then, they were on at 9 and off at 10.30 in London.

aldo, Thursday, 3 July 2008 14:42 (eighteen years ago)

well i wont be surprised if they dont come on at 9

Herman G. Neuname, Thursday, 3 July 2008 14:42 (eighteen years ago)

my mate who saw them last night said they came on about 9.15 and were off 10.45, so i think it's the same kind of set and the barras don't do minutes :)

grimly fiendish, Thursday, 3 July 2008 14:44 (eighteen years ago)

ailsa says it looks like they might be sorted, and to tell you thanks, herman :)

grimly fiendish, Thursday, 3 July 2008 14:47 (eighteen years ago)

well at least that means i dont need to rush out at the end and can just take my time. Getting picked up at 11.
I usually leave by the fire exit at the back right of the hall if they still allow that. Not been to the barras in years.
And that's great if they got the tix.

Herman G. Neuname, Thursday, 3 July 2008 15:03 (eighteen years ago)

SOMEONE WHO SHALL REMAIN NAMELESS has just looked at our tickets and OMG they are for YESTERDAY!

i've done this. with a plane ticket. (glad all's - apparently - sorted now!)

CharlieNo4, Thursday, 3 July 2008 15:34 (eighteen years ago)

Aw man it's thunder and lightning here now with unbelievably heavy rain.

Herman G. Neuname, Thursday, 3 July 2008 16:00 (eighteen years ago)

If anyones still looking for tix, there'll likely be loads going on the door. About 20 people selling last night as we went in. Weren't even going for free...anyone say cReDiT cRuNcH

yungblut, Thursday, 3 July 2008 16:04 (eighteen years ago)

Aye, we got sorted, cheers Herman :-)

ailsa, Thursday, 3 July 2008 23:25 (eighteen years ago)

You're welcome!

Herman G. Neuname, Friday, 4 July 2008 18:26 (eighteen years ago)

if anyone cares, momus seems to be playing stereo on the 27th. i can't make it -- will be at a wedding -- but thought i'd mention it.

i like the fact there's one confirmed attendee on last.fm ... which is momus himself.

grimly fiendish, Monday, 7 July 2008 11:24 (seventeen years ago)

I'm going to Glasgow...but only for one night! I'm going to be hanging out at Optimo on the 27th.

dan selzer, Thursday, 17 July 2008 12:51 (seventeen years ago)

fyi, glasgow: dan and his gf are wonderful people.

i encouraged him to post on this thread, and now i feel like a mother who has pushed her kid into the sandbox.

Madchen, Friday, 12 September 2008 15:01 (seventeen years ago)

Nothing jumping out at me, but if anyone cares to suggest something, I might be amenable to coming along. I shall be in town anyway on Saturday as I'm lunching with my mum, so would be nice to catch up with folks since I've been in credit-crunch-induced hibernation for what seems like forever.

ailsa, Friday, 12 September 2008 15:15 (seventeen years ago)

That's one of ours, I think, but I can't quite figure out a way to claim going up to Glasgow to look at pretty buildings as a business expense. yet.

Our Friend The Atom (Masonic Boom), Friday, 12 September 2008 15:15 (seventeen years ago)

Stet and I might go to Traffic Control Central and start a fight with the person responsible for traffic lights.

one month passes...

Hello, it's me.

Mrmonkey and I will be trying Glasgow more at the end of January, if anyone is about. We have a party to go to on the 31at, but will be around for a few days if people want to hang out.

accentmonkey, Sunday, 23 November 2008 13:46 (seventeen years ago)

I should be available for some hanging out, if required.

ailsa, Sunday, 23 November 2008 13:57 (seventeen years ago)

Yup, me too.

Madchen, Thursday, 27 November 2008 12:40 (seventeen years ago)

This would be good. Count me in.

grimly fiendish, Thursday, 27 November 2008 12:48 (seventeen years ago)

I would like to come along to this, if I can - don't think I've seen any Glasgow ILXors since that drink-up before the Carter gig

Ward Fowler, Thursday, 27 November 2008 13:00 (seventeen years ago)

Top! Be excellent to see you.

grimly fiendish, Thursday, 27 November 2008 13:01 (seventeen years ago)

Yes, Carter was A YEAR AGO. Who says Glasgow doesn't FAP, eh?

ailsa, Friday, 28 November 2008 14:56 (seventeen years ago)

Top! Be excellent to see you.

You too. There was something I needed to have a big argument with you about. I can't remember what it was, but I've written it down, I'm sure.

Oh, Dead Set, that was it. Yes. Have your points on index cards for that weekend, please.

accentmonkey, Sunday, 30 November 2008 02:22 (seventeen years ago)

yes, it will be great to see grimly but he is DEAD WRONG abt DEAD SET

Ward Fowler, Sunday, 30 November 2008 07:30 (seventeen years ago)

jed_, Wednesday, 17 December 2008 02:07 (seventeen years ago)

also, i just had to draw your attention to this from the gays thread:

Kevin J. Bozelka just called me "Sugar Bear Booger Britches". LOL!!!

Also an ilxor sent me a photo of another ilxor dude who um...is really GOTH AND HOTTTT. Or at least he was in the 20 year old pic on his last.fm page!

haha Bimble is hott for the young onigoth.

http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/126/18366277.jpg

He'd only be disappointed with the older heavier boring me.

Some creepiness going on from ILX's resident last.fm stalker all the same.

before christmas or between christmas and hogmanay?

After Hogmanay would be good for me; all else is fucked.

grimly fiendish, Wednesday, 17 December 2008 09:33 (seventeen years ago)

i am 'down south' until the 3rd jan :-(

Ward Fowler, Wednesday, 17 December 2008 10:36 (seventeen years ago)

I'm off work until the 5th, so I could probably make it to a Festive FAP.

treefell, Wednesday, 17 December 2008 11:27 (seventeen years ago)

I am in glasgow area between Christmas and Hogmanay.

straight outta Easter Compton (aldo), Wednesday, 17 December 2008 12:34 (seventeen years ago)

I'll be back on the 27th. Does anyone fancy larging it with me at that FAC 51 thing?

Madchen, Wednesday, 17 December 2008 13:08 (seventeen years ago)

I've considered it, but I fear it will be absolutely appalling :/

grimly fiendish, Wednesday, 17 December 2008 15:12 (seventeen years ago)

My plan would be to get so drunk it doesn't matter.

Madchen, Wednesday, 17 December 2008 17:26 (seventeen years ago)

I am not sure what between Xmas and New Year plans are yet, but if I'm around, would be up for fappage. I'm in up in Inverness for Christmas, but am not sure if we're staying up for New Year or not. So I vote for Grimly's after-Hogmanay plan as well!

ailsa, Wednesday, 17 December 2008 17:42 (seventeen years ago)

Was that not last Sat? Is there another? Xp

stet, Wednesday, 17 December 2008 17:55 (seventeen years ago)

It got moved, according to a poster I saw somewhere yesterday.

ailsa, Wednesday, 17 December 2008 18:02 (seventeen years ago)

Yeh, it was meant to be last Saturday. I was quite pleased: I was away, so couldn't have gone, and didn't need to feel guilty about betraying the Spirit of Wilson.

To be honest, though, I think the Spirit of Wilson would think the whole thing was gonna suck dick. I mean, it'll be full of ageing professional northerners girning about people playing the wrong mixes (ie cunts exactly like me).

grimly fiendish, Wednesday, 17 December 2008 18:12 (seventeen years ago)

I had an early night instead, and was up with the lark yesterday to do a mountain of washing. This is, perhaps, the very definition of old.

Madchen, Monday, 29 December 2008 10:49 (seventeen years ago)

A mate just rang me and asked where (other than the Apple Store) I'd go to get an iBook repaired in Glasgow. Good question: the Apple Store's kind of wiped out a lot of the competition.

So: has anyone got any computer-repair recommendations to share? (Personally, I think he should just take it to the Apple Store, but hey.)
