that's an iphone 6 on the left. you can imagine it full screen, touch id or whatever. great phone! would buy!

I had completely forgotten that the iPod Touch existed but, of course... it's the only iPod that they make any more and it's basically a thinner, lighter iPhone SE (sans GPS, NFC, voice/SMS capability obv). I'm sticking with the SE through to late 2019 at least.

New MacBook Air: retina screen, fuck-all ports, headphone on the wrong side. Audience cheering like announcements of yore. Very different feel from the po-faced iPhone events

june 2017 ipad pro would almost be tempting if they'd bumped the price down. new ipad pro is 760 funbucks and the cheapest apple cover is 85 and that's only for the 8GB model

new air is 20% too expensive

too diffuse a range of products makes it too frustrating to min-max plus post-brexit weakness of the pound has pushed prices uncomfortably high. there's just no sweet spot, as far as I can see in the range

if the new pro started at 128GB for the 760£ model and the smart cover 45/55£ worked then it might have been the_one

ipad pro seems pretty big for anything except actual work IMO

FWIW, my main book and comic reader is a iPad Mini 3. If I had to get something now, I'd probably get that $329 9" iPad. You don't have to spend iPad Pro money on it.

Physical media won't let me back it up in multiple locations and will be a big problem when climate-change enhanced fires burn all of California down. Portability and redundancy forever!
