鬼の手 (Edward III), Thursday, 11 June 2009 20:23 (sixteen years ago)

I wonder if that guy ever got to the point where he wondered to himself, "How did my life take its turns to where I'm standing here on this corner holding this sign?"

Pleasant Plains, Thursday, 11 June 2009 21:06 (sixteen years ago)

I'm sure in his schizophrenic mind he is HERO

鬼の手 (Edward III), Thursday, 11 June 2009 21:08 (sixteen years ago)

okay maybe I'm not sure but it seems plausible

鬼の手 (Edward III), Thursday, 11 June 2009 21:08 (sixteen years ago)

woah he names a specific guy

sorry i poisoned u with nachos :( (HI DERE), Thursday, 11 June 2009 21:09 (sixteen years ago)

I wonder what is going on in yr life where you ponder the question "should I take this concern to the police or make a sign and stand on a street corner" and you choose the street corner

it probably is the point with schizophrenia

sorry i poisoned u with nachos :( (HI DERE), Thursday, 11 June 2009 21:10 (sixteen years ago)

Hi, Tombot! Good to hear you're well.

Something somewhere defined the difference between neurosis and psychosis thusly: neurotics build castles in the air, psychotics live in them.

TB, to what do we owe the congratulatin'? Is it newjobnewhoos or generally breaking on through to the other side-related?

The sidebar ad says "Having spinal surgery? Do you want cut or uncut?" which is...wrong, terrifyingly wrong. In several ways.

But not someone who should be dead anyway (Laurel), Wednesday, 8 July 2009 14:22 (sixteen years ago)

id like to think that toms history of dealing with the rogue states like 77 and the lbzc has helped steel him for attacks from north korea

Wow, that really IS a lame snipping of the actual answer for lol purposes

nabisco, Wednesday, 15 July 2009 20:18 (sixteen years ago)

stupid fucking question to ask an appointee anyway. reminds me of the Q&A sessions from NSA where people would whine about parking and cafeteria food to Michael Hayden.

I had to start on a tuesday because nobody else is allowed to swear in the same day as the president.

El Tomboto, Friday, 17 July 2009 04:36 (sixteen years ago)

Play Mad Libs with Tombot's professional correspondence:

Gentlemen,

The following quote from the below e-mail has me very confused:
"No one updated the (ACTIVITY) slide last night. I asked (FIRST NAME) about it and he said his shift wasn't doing it. They had to much to do already."

The (PART OF A DAY) shift is staffed by eight people - nine counting their trainee; I understand that two of those people are assigned to (ORGANIZATIONAL ROLE). This leaves Mr. (LAST NAME) with 60 man-hours per shift under (ANOTHER ORGANIZATIONAL ROLE). Why would it take 60 man-hours per night to produce the (COMPOUND NOUN) and the (NOUN), when on (DAY OF THE WEEK) nights, with roughly equivalent (ANOTHER NOUN) volume, it takes one person about 30 minutes?

I spent four hours with the (PART OF A DAY)shift yesterday, and I think I know the answer, but I thought I would raise the question up to my chain of command.

El Tomboto, Friday, 17 July 2009 04:47 (sixteen years ago)

I can only imagine a trip to Malta going down like Final Justice.

that was fucking exhausting

El Tomboto, Friday, 29 June 2012 03:07 (thirteen years ago)

filed my Trip Report. FOIA it as you wish. CISK is not particularly good beer, but it is generally served cold and only comes it at around 3.3% ABV which is about right for the price and frankly I ought to be thankful for that statistic

El Tomboto, Friday, 29 June 2012 03:09 (thirteen years ago)

So how did meeting up with the one guy from the one country go, if it went?

Ned Raggett, Friday, 29 June 2012 03:18 (thirteen years ago)

Oh man didn't you get to do anything fun?

quincie, Friday, 29 June 2012 03:18 (thirteen years ago)

did you see any falcons or templars?

mookieproof, Friday, 29 June 2012 03:19 (thirteen years ago)

it was hella stressful but I made it and I got a room with an ocean view patio.
The Pub closes early on Thursdays so all we have is a photo of the sign with the shutters down. All told, another amazing adventure for the Tombot and I managed not to get arrested and I still have a job. seriously though, representing a superpower is no fucking joke. I tried to be forthright (no good relationship is ever built on snappy patter) without sharing any official dirty laundry. Literally, because of travel budget cutbacks and previous commitments by people who weren't allowed to travel because of previously noted cutbacks, plus org chart shuffle, I got to play the roles of 5 people that week.

El Tomboto, Thursday, 12 July 2012 03:56 (thirteen years ago)

Next year it's in Bangkok.

El Tomboto, Thursday, 12 July 2012 03:56 (thirteen years ago)

Fun things I got to do: I smoked lemon shisha (basically a hookah) on a roof underneath a reverse bungee ride in downtown St. Julian's and there was a belly dancer who was highly qualified for her job. This was also while EURO KICKING BALLS 2012 was going on so it was kinda fun observing the hookah-customer conflict of attention-paying between SEXYTIME DANCING and SWEDEN V. ENGLAND

I got to explore the Malta Hilton which is basically a Dragon's Quest VIII town/dungeon level, minus the monster genocide part (but also minus the treasure).

Also I saw some actually really entertaining and edifying presentations by other nerds but those details is reserved for paying nerds

El Tomboto, Thursday, 12 July 2012 04:10 (thirteen years ago)

That sounds super awesome aside from the "playing the roles of 5 ppl" part

I see you, Pineapple Teef (DJP), Thursday, 12 July 2012 11:20 (thirteen years ago)

El Tomboto, I have missed you super much

THIS. But then I miss ILX so much these days. I am trying my VERY BEST (which isn't much) to log on more. BUt I guess lucky for you guys/girls I don't. lol

Nathalie (stevienixed), Thursday, 12 July 2012 11:25 (thirteen years ago)

SEXYTIME DANCING and SWEDEN V. ENGLAND

i'd imagine after 10 minutes or so the choice became clear.. sweden v england was like an animated gif of unenthusiastic dry-humping

TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Thursday, 12 July 2012 11:54 (thirteen years ago)

England vs Sweden much better from outside England, I am guessing.

Also Hey Tombot!

Andrew Farrell, Thursday, 12 July 2012 12:03 (thirteen years ago)

england-sweden was fuckin awesome from the central square in sopot iirc

*Waves at a TOMBOT*

Malta also holds Caravaggio's 'Beheading of John the Baptist' in its largest cathedral. Easily the best non-modern art I've ever seen IRL.
