So any plans for a fap in July? I am missing faps. :-( Anyone want to fap in lovely cambridge?

I'm pretty free in July, so whatever's cool with everyone else. I know there was s'posed to be a big cambridge fap, but can't remember when ppl wanted to do this.

Spiritualized are playing at the RFH the next day... though if I don't get *too* ratted, it would be nice to be sitting in the RFH drifting gently with a mild hangover and good feeling...

Please, let's NOT wait till nearer the time this time? Because that's how my time gets eaten up with other obligations! OK, fair enough, it was usually Joe making those other obligations without telling me, but advance warning is better in these things.

i think we should put the date in our diaries, start a thread, and stick to the date. if all else fails, we can have a small trip to cambridge. otherwise, we can maybe have a decent sized-fap. weekends do tend to get booked up ages in advance, if we book it now then people can plan ahead...

I don't use a laundry basket. I floorganise clothes like my mum taught me. Dirty stuff on the floor in a pile, clean just out of the washing machine clothes in the closet, and stuff you've worn once but could probably get away with wearing again draped over the back of random chairs.

Several times Joe has got on my case about cleaning up the bedroom, and I've explained to him about floorganising. It was one of the things he brought up in our huge blowout fight. You know, it's not *that* big a deal. I prefer to floorganise, but if it takes getting a laundry basket like him to save our marriage, I'd do it.

(Though I suspect that the laundry basket is just one more symptom, I don't know, he just wants *everything* I do to be the way he says, so I get passive aggressive about little things I can control, like what I do with my laundry.)

No, no, he doesn't care if they're washed, it's not a hassle doing it. I just like them on the floor and he likes them in a basket; a rug would not be a solution.

(One of the solutions would be HIM GETTING HIS CLOTHES OUT OF THE WASHING MACHINE WHEN THEY'RE DONE, INSTEAD OF LETTING THEM SIT THERE FOR DAYS, SO I CAN ALSO USE THE WASHING MACHINE but that is a particular pet peeve of mine.)

I'm going with some friends to the LIFT fireworks extravaganza in Victoria Park on Saturday evening. More info: www.liftfest.org and look for lift 2004, groupe f. The plan is to be in The Crown from 7pm ish and then move into Vic Park for a picnic and then fireworks.

Heh heh. Spent most of the afternoon sitting in the sun/cloud/sun/cloud/no, so again, discussing whether or not the various cute boys that passed by highlighted their hair or if it was natural. It's nice to know I still have a libido.

Then I walked to Hackney Marsh. What a strange, beautiful, godforsaken sort of place. It was totally deserted. I can't remember the last time I saw a space that large so empty of people in London. And the River Lea on one side the Lee River Naviation on the other. Lee and Lea in perfect harmoneeeeee. Hackney looks like it was once very beautiful. Especially Sutton House and Sutton Place.

Do you live in Sutton Place? You lucky dog! (unless you have some kind of mobile connection.) It's really lovely! The spooky churchyard with no church left seemed to be like a corridor through another time. The sort of place where you're not sure if you're going to encounter a modern crack dealer or an 18th Century grave robber.

I knew you were going to ask that, Pink! I was about to write you an email about it. I bought two pairs of very plain work trousers, one in blue, one in black. A couple of flirty, stripey, button-down summer shirts, and, on Colette's provocation a rather tight and possibly sexy pale blue tank-top/vest/wifebeater thing which I was VERY uncertain of due to Fear Of Log-Arm but which actually made Joe run up and start humping my leg like a dog when I came home wearing it. So there you go.

sure, but they weren't very interesting. about 6 or 7 tshirts (i'm wearing the only crew-neck one today, in a bright pale teal, if that makes any sense), 6 pairs of socks, 2 vests, a 3-pack of pants and 2 bra/pant sets.

i really love that store.

kate's stripey shirts are cool, and she bought clothes in color! wow!

I am actually wearing an all Primark outfit right now! (Blue work trousers and a mock Fred Perry style shirt) Oh, I forgot I bought blue pants as well. Everything I bought was blue, except one of the stripey shirts was pale purple and blue stripes. I'm trying to get into this "wearing colours" thing again, since all my fat clothes are black.

Sutton House incorrectly promotes itself as the oldest house in the east end. The Ancient House in Walthamstow is far older.

I was over Hackney Marshes yesterday. There were turtles on the non-navigable arm of the river. And dragonflies bombarding the water.

Turtles! I saw only a dog! I wish I'd seen the turtles. The non-navigable River Lee or Lea is possibly one of the most beautiful spots in London.

Is Walthamstowe actually East End, though? Isn't Walthamstowe near Waltham Cross and actually recently swallowed Essex? I should look it up in the A to Z to correct my geography.

Walthamstow is about 7 miles from Waltham cross, is inside the 406 and has an E postcode. It's North east London really though.

Yes it is technically East London. Used to be part of Essex before the shake up last century.

The division between London and Essex was originally the Lea.

So, is Walthamstowe on the other side of the River Lee or Lea, then? In that case, even if it's technically East London, it's still Essex and doesn't count. And how Ancient is this Ancient House, anyway? Is it justifiably Ancient? More ancient than Henry VIII?
