two weeks pass...

Prithvi has landed

imago, Thursday, 4 October 2018 08:12 (seven years ago)

one month passes...

...awkwardly, and is out of the first Test. How disappointing!

Yasir Shah is Warne without the sleaze

imago, Monday, 3 December 2018 09:24 (seven years ago)

yeah that's a shame. Still think it should be a good series.

Neil S, Monday, 3 December 2018 09:32 (seven years ago)

Yes.

We'd also talk about the Windies but SV might not be able to take it so

imago, Monday, 3 December 2018 09:35 (seven years ago)

this is absolute trash from india. morons

imago, Thursday, 6 December 2018 01:36 (seven years ago)

Pujara is v good but it would seem that India are 100 or so runs shy.

Meanwhile Williamson looks like he might be doing a Kohli on Pakistan...

Neil S, Thursday, 6 December 2018 10:26 (seven years ago)

one month passes...

I suppose SV will have to start posting to this thread again

imago, Thursday, 24 January 2019 17:40 (seven years ago)

We will still contrive to lose but I am enjoying it while I can.

ShariVari, Thursday, 24 January 2019 18:34 (seven years ago)

so predictable

Oor Neechy, Thursday, 24 January 2019 18:35 (seven years ago)

Classic.

Wee boats wobble but they don't fall down (Tom D.), Thursday, 24 January 2019 18:37 (seven years ago)

yet the touring sides still wont have 2 4-day warm up matches.

Oor Neechy, Thursday, 24 January 2019 19:02 (seven years ago)

England thought, when playing WI, all they needed to do was turn up tbh.

Wee boats wobble but they don't fall down (Tom D.), Thursday, 24 January 2019 19:04 (seven years ago)

they thought that the last few times and didnt win a series. also remember a few bowled out for under a 100 (under 50 once iirc)

Oor Neechy, Thursday, 24 January 2019 19:06 (seven years ago)

Hell mend them then!

Wee boats wobble but they don't fall down (Tom D.), Thursday, 24 January 2019 19:09 (seven years ago)

Geoffrey Boycott

"I wasn't so thrilled with the batting, especially after the way Jimmy Anderson had bowled. I thought 300 was OK, nothing special.

I thought we'd make 400 and get a decent lead. It wasn't only disappointing, it was embarrassing."

The best laid plans of mice and men...

Wee boats wobble but they don't fall down (Tom D.), Thursday, 24 January 2019 19:38 (seven years ago)

why do they have a pitch that was only fit to last a 20/20 game?

Oor Neechy, Thursday, 24 January 2019 20:33 (seven years ago)

makes a farce of test cricket

Oor Neechy, Thursday, 24 January 2019 20:34 (seven years ago)

the good news is at least England have gained access to the secret board

Marie Kondo Rock (King Boy Pato), Thursday, 24 January 2019 20:43 (seven years ago)

:)

Wee boats wobble but they don't fall down (Tom D.), Thursday, 24 January 2019 21:08 (seven years ago)

just wait until they have to face JHYE

JHYE
JHYE
JHYE

Marie Kondo Rock (King Boy Pato), Friday, 25 January 2019 11:44 (seven years ago)

The LOLz continue...

Wee boats wobble but they don't fall down (Tom D.), Friday, 25 January 2019 17:20 (seven years ago)

This is brutal. I imagine this is the end of Rashid for a while.

Good cop, Babcock (Chinaski), Friday, 25 January 2019 17:25 (seven years ago)

Leach should obviously have played tbh

imago, Friday, 25 January 2019 17:56 (seven years ago)

did SV mean they'll find a way to lose the series? even that has to be in doubt at this point, although they will have an extremely angry stuart broad to contend with

imago, Friday, 25 January 2019 18:14 (seven years ago)

this is kind of glorious murder meanwhile

imago, Friday, 25 January 2019 18:14 (seven years ago)

England win this series 2-1. My brother pointed out this morning that the lack of regard these cunts pay to the first test in every series is immoral

Sarri, Sarri, pride of our alley (Noodle Vague), Friday, 25 January 2019 18:45 (seven years ago)

why do they have a pitch that was only fit to last a 20/20 game?

Some 20/20 game this is from WI.

Wee boats wobble but they don't fall down (Tom D.), Friday, 25 January 2019 18:47 (seven years ago)

229 and counting for the 7th wicket, no. 7 batsman on the verge of a century, 150 already up for the no. 8 bat. The pitch is a ruddy disgrace.

Wee boats wobble but they don't fall down (Tom D.), Friday, 25 January 2019 18:55 (seven years ago)

WI contrive to lose...the fifth day

imago, Saturday, 26 January 2019 19:51 (seven years ago)

Another comedy collapse. 8 for 60 for Roston Chase, who didn't even get a bowl in the 1st innnings!

Wee boats wobble but they don't fall down (Tom D.), Saturday, 26 January 2019 20:33 (seven years ago)

Shane Warne's best ever Test performance was 8 for 71, a dibbly-dobbly part-time non-spinning spinner has just topped that.

Wee boats wobble but they don't fall down (Tom D.), Saturday, 26 January 2019 20:51 (seven years ago)

The English top 6 are worse than any English side of the 90s. Roots batting has been awful since becoming captain

Oor Neechy, Thursday, 31 January 2019 20:09 (seven years ago)

Anyone think the windies will even need to bat again in this test?

Oor Neechy, Saturday, 2 February 2019 16:37 (seven years ago)

I think they will need to bat again, but whether they need 50, 120 or 200, we shall see...

Neil S, Saturday, 2 February 2019 17:48 (seven years ago)

Bairstow out so probably 50. England have their problems but remember that they beat the world no. 1 side 4-1 not so long ago.

Neil S, Saturday, 2 February 2019 17:50 (seven years ago)

they beat the odd team in the 90s too

Oor Neechy, Saturday, 2 February 2019 17:56 (seven years ago)

beating Sri Lanka 3-0 in Sri Lanka wasn't bad either. No shame in losing overseas to what is a good WI team, and no reason for doom and gloom

Neil S, Saturday, 2 February 2019 18:00 (seven years ago)

A good WI team? Have you told Geoffrey Boycott?

Wee boats wobble but they don't fall down (Tom D.), Saturday, 2 February 2019 18:02 (seven years ago)

G Boycott should keep his mouth shut

Neil S, Saturday, 2 February 2019 18:05 (seven years ago)

It seemed to have the desired effect on the WI team - though not the effect Boycott would have wanted.

Wee boats wobble but they don't fall down (Tom D.), Saturday, 2 February 2019 18:07 (seven years ago)

This series is a pasting for the ages

imago, Saturday, 2 February 2019 20:02 (seven years ago)

the WI are not a good side but they have a better attitude. The 20/20 players fucked off.
The English players just want to play like KP and they are being found out. England needs some players in the top 4 who can just dig in and lay a foundation for the flair players like Bairstow, Buttler (as keeper and at 7) and stokes.

Oor Neechy, Saturday, 2 February 2019 20:04 (seven years ago)

Funniest thing I've seen in years.

Wee boats wobble but they don't fall down (Tom D.), Saturday, 2 February 2019 20:31 (seven years ago)

Disappointed it took the Windies so long to knock off the runs tbh.

Wee boats wobble but they don't fall down (Tom D.), Saturday, 2 February 2019 20:38 (seven years ago)

the collapse is on and Root looks mentally shot. Captaincy is ruining him.

Friedrich B. Neechy (Oor Neechy), Saturday, 9 February 2019 17:51 (seven years ago)

Butler dropped on 0

Friedrich B. Neechy (Oor Neechy), Saturday, 9 February 2019 18:11 (seven years ago)

Hetmyer had that catch all the way

imago, Saturday, 9 February 2019 18:11 (seven years ago)

It's kinda hard to imagine Butler punishing them innit. I like him a lot and think he should be keeping and batting at 7 with Bairstow @5 but you know he's going to slash at another one soon enough.

This is a hugely important innings for Root. Captains need to be able to score big tons when the team is struggling.

Friedrich B. Neechy (Oor Neechy), Saturday, 9 February 2019 18:26 (seven years ago)

And Root fails out before tea

Friedrich B. Neechy (Oor Neechy), Saturday, 9 February 2019 19:21 (seven years ago)
