I have not read through this revive tbh but I’d just like to say that I am truly sorry for seeming to have caused all of this. my intent was really not to diss katherine, whom I respect, but rather to focus the 1975 thread on what I felt was a more productive direction. the thread has been notably trolled by turrican for years and I perhaps carelessly (and certainly imprecisely) lumped katherine in with him based on a review of hers that was posted to the thread (by another poster!) that tbh I felt was weakly reasoned and not worth engaging. I think the dogpile that ensued was pretty gross and again I am sorry for seeming to have caused it

I prefer to see it more about being honest on a music forum about the bands music and the band as personalities from my perspective. As you can see, fans of The 1975 have an ability to accept or even discuss opinions which may be counter to theirs - what they'll do is do exactly what's happened to katherine over the past couple of days.

Now, I may have said a few things that people have disagreed with on musical topics which have led to people throwing their toys out of the pram, but I've never once isolated the opinion of a woman on a site external to ILM where many males were expressing pretty much similar opinions and started ripping her to shreds while simultaneously congratulating myself on how progressive my social thinking is elsewhere.

I'm very sorry I posted the TSJ link, intended as a counter-response to the enthusiasm for the band's last couple singles. I certainly won't do it again.

kathrine has tried again and again to make this discussion stop. Turrican reviving it after two hours to score points about what a nice guy he is is such a perfect illustration of why he is the worst poster ever.

That's fascinating, I always thought the stuff about bathtubs and lightning was an urban legend, but apparently it's real. Keep in mind that supposedly only 10 to 20 people a year, at least in the States, sustained injuries due to bathing or showering or washing dishes during a lightning storm. But that's more or less on par with the number of people killed by lightning related incidents, and I presume overlaps at least a tiny bit.

I would totally have chosen the beers, but I am being paid to be there, and money trumps beer because more money equals more beer. I am mostly going to the second show to bring a friend who is a big fan who was bummed he would otherwise miss it. But the flip side is that I can drink a beer anytime and these special Pearl Jam shows should be a lot of fun. Band is good live, and it's always neat to see a show at Wrigley Field.
