this thread is interesting because when I flag posts it is because I think the post itself is objectionable, contains objectionable language, etc., and then the expectation is that the individual post is deleted but the poster is not advanced up some kind of fifty-strikes-you're-out-no-questions-asked scale.

this seems very...unintuitive. especially since the flag post screen tells you are flagging the *post* for attention of the moderators

Used to be called suggest ban before my day. That seemed a clearer term.

I’m not sure we need that much more moderation though idk. My friend moderates a massive subreddit and she is constantly rooting out hateful, hateful stuff that ilx luckily doesn’t seem to have much of.

well a) we're an increasingly shrinking and insular circle, and b) really hateful stuff will almost always get modded and banned without FP coming into play
