Why do people leave ILX for good?

personally solipsistic wankery is why i'm on message boards

i generally only make song/album/artist threads when their momentum seems to have escalated beyond devoted genre threads or which would seem to appeal to more than the narrow band of ppl who keep up with a rolling thread (see: new foxing record), so far this has worked out fine

oh and especially if the artist/album doesn't settle easily into a genre thread

just keeping up the ilm convo to annoy deems at this point

hey its all energy right

me? most people who actually want to share something rather than solipsistically wank?

Just because people aren't responding doesn't mean they aren't listening and engaging, but I'm much more likely to engage with something when someone's actually chosen to single it out rather than putting it as a Youtube link in a thread with literally hundreds of others.

ive been a dick lately - time to take accountability for that and be way more aware

there was briefly a trend i noticed recently where longtime posters who never made an impression one way or another suddenly turned into attention-begging creeps but afaict they were either banned or left of their own accord.

JK above by the way djh- I definitely know how it feels to struggle with the fear that others don't find you all that interesting. I was much more sensitive about that in the past.
