Alright, here's the question of the day:

I can think of nothing more enticing for me today than buying a 22 oz beer, putting it in some opaque container, and having it as a road soda on the way home. Mind you, I live in LA, have a 22 mile drive to get home, and it will be Friday afternoon traffic.

Seriously - one beer. Not three or five, but one.

Should I do this - yes or no?

B.L.A.M., Friday, 30 May 2008 16:10 (eighteen years ago)

nah just have five and then get a taxi home.

ken c, Friday, 30 May 2008 16:11 (eighteen years ago)

That would be more expensive than flying from LAX to Burbank!

B.L.A.M., Friday, 30 May 2008 16:49 (eighteen years ago)

oh in that case do that!!

ken c, Friday, 30 May 2008 16:51 (eighteen years ago)

1 oz. per mile sounds auspicious

elmo argonaut, Friday, 30 May 2008 17:05 (eighteen years ago)

How about riding dirty with an open container of alkeehawl?

B.L.A.M., Friday, 30 May 2008 17:14 (eighteen years ago)

B.L.A.M., is there any reason you might have for getting pulled over? Tail light out? Expired registration, etc?

Michael White, Friday, 30 May 2008 17:17 (eighteen years ago)

How much time does it actually take to get home?

Bimble, Friday, 30 May 2008 17:21 (eighteen years ago)

I don't know - it sounds risky to me even though you'd probably be fine. I've always been very cautious with drinking and driving stuff.

Guys, I'm dying here. Three more hours. I can do this. I think.

ENBB, Friday, 30 May 2008 17:37 (eighteen years ago)

B.L.A.M., is there any reason you might have for getting pulled over? Tail light out? Expired registration, etc?

You're instincts are good. Nah, my car is clean and tagged.

I'm almost 100% kidding. I'm not going to do this. It wouldn't be smart at all.

B.L.A.M., Friday, 30 May 2008 17:47 (eighteen years ago)

But, then again, there are like 6 liquor stores and convenience stores b/t my office and the closest freeway.

And it takes about 1.5 hours to get home on a Friday afternoon.

B.L.A.M., Friday, 30 May 2008 17:50 (eighteen years ago)

one month passes...

WANT GO HOME.

Thirty minutes.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 11 July 2008 22:29 (seventeen years ago)

Hungry! Want fritters.

Michael White, Friday, 11 July 2008 22:31 (seventeen years ago)

Good idea.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 11 July 2008 22:33 (seventeen years ago)

So sleepless and bored I can't keep my eyes open. If it weren't for the fact that my car is supposed to be repaired by 6pm, I'd tell my boss I'm sick and go home right now.

Bimble, Friday, 11 July 2008 22:47 (seventeen years ago)

2.5 hours - BEGONE!

kingkongvsgodzilla, Friday, 25 July 2008 18:29 (seventeen years ago)

(also, to my commuter bus, please don't break down on the side of the beltway like you did yesterday. that was some bullshit.)

kingkongvsgodzilla, Friday, 25 July 2008 18:30 (seventeen years ago)

Four and a half hours to go!

*dies*

Ned Raggett, Friday, 25 July 2008 18:30 (seventeen years ago)

Kinda makes you wish it was two weeks ago, huh?

kingkongvsgodzilla, Friday, 25 July 2008 18:34 (seventeen years ago)

7-11. Never forget.

Michael White, Friday, 25 July 2008 18:35 (seventeen years ago)

2.5 hours for me, too. then forever on the train ugh. i am not even working, just sitting here. i just had a nice lunch. i am so freaking bored.

tehresa, Friday, 25 July 2008 18:35 (seventeen years ago)

3.5 to go.

I would like a siesta.

Oilyrags, Friday, 25 July 2008 18:36 (seventeen years ago)

2 more...
i am about to have my own siesta since there's no one here to stop me.

tehresa, Friday, 25 July 2008 18:59 (seventeen years ago)

NO! No it is not okay to play Margaritaville three times in a row at your cube adjoining mine.

Oilyrags, Friday, 25 July 2008 19:05 (seventeen years ago)

(more of a let's bitch about our irritating co-workers post, I guess)

Oilyrags, Friday, 25 July 2008 19:05 (seventeen years ago)

Sing a very long song to yourself many times in a row.

Kevin John Bozelka, Friday, 25 July 2008 19:06 (seventeen years ago)

...and the voices of those who stand looking....

kingkongvsgodzilla, Friday, 25 July 2008 20:52 (seventeen years ago)

....There's still time to change the road you're on (I think so!)....

kingkongvsgodzilla, Friday, 25 July 2008 20:54 (seventeen years ago)

6 minutes!

tehresa, Friday, 25 July 2008 20:54 (seventeen years ago)

TO BE A ROCK, AND NOT TO ROOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLL!

kingkongvsgodzilla, Friday, 25 July 2008 20:57 (seventeen years ago)

Sing a very long song to yourself many times in a row.

I used to do this with Bohemian Rhapsody, and bob my head to the "Galileo Galileo" bit

snoball, Friday, 25 July 2008 20:59 (seventeen years ago)

The songs that go through my head tend to be the instrumental versions of jazz numbers. One favorite is Wes Montgomery's recording of Sonny Rollins' "Airegin" from "The Incredible Jazz Guitar of Wes Montgomery."

So, if I type what's in my head it comes out more like.

Dzeee daah dee dwa dee! Dwweee dat badee bwa da dwaa deeeee. Dwwaaa wa waaaaaaaa. Waaa da waaaaaaaa. Boodadidamadayaaayaaa....

Typing out shit like that? That's what I call senselessly frittering!

Oilyrags, Friday, 25 July 2008 21:07 (seventeen years ago)

30 minutes! I sure am glad there are many bars in this part of town.

Oilyrags, Friday, 25 July 2008 21:29 (seventeen years ago)

so i'm more like an hour 49 minutes, but damn. this week should END.

deej, Friday, 1 August 2008 19:42 (seventeen years ago)

To paraphrase New Order, "Three hours to go...I've got three hours to go..."

Ned Raggett, Friday, 1 August 2008 19:43 (seventeen years ago)

dude in the afternoon the sun comes in the windows and renders the a/c completely ineffective and it's pissing me off.

tehresa, Friday, 1 August 2008 19:44 (seventeen years ago)

It's been almost 3 p.m. for a loooooong time now!

Ai Lien, Friday, 1 August 2008 19:52 (seventeen years ago)

That bus took 2.5 hours to travel 30 miles last week.

kingkongvsgodzilla, Friday, 1 August 2008 19:54 (seventeen years ago)

Ai Lien, Friday, 1 August 2008 19:55 (seventeen years ago)

Test driving used cars and a pool party which is likely to be thunderstormed out.

kingkongvsgodzilla, Friday, 1 August 2008 19:57 (seventeen years ago)

tehresa, Friday, 1 August 2008 19:59 (seventeen years ago)

Ai Lien, Friday, 1 August 2008 20:02 (seventeen years ago)

tehresa, Friday, 1 August 2008 20:26 (seventeen years ago)

Ai Lien, Friday, 1 August 2008 20:45 (seventeen years ago)

Ned Raggett, Friday, 1 August 2008 22:47 (seventeen years ago)
