i'll give the episode a listen (i've been more or less enjoying the show lately) but that RS article is embarrassing. i mean, Of Course ozyfest was a godawful idea carried out largely by godawful people (though it would have been nice to see one of these pieces really engage with the fact that some folks who are actually at least somewhat Good like Gillibrand and Cynthia Nixon were there too), so i'm not really sure what was the point of making a huge show of how you totally were trippin balls when you showed up to clown everybody there.

I think it's tiring but the drug jokes seem like second-generation mocking of the HST tendencies. I guess it's no more or less meta and navel-gazing than anything else my generation does but "I'm going to get messed up and go to an event like Hunter Thompson, isn't that dumb? *winks at camera*" is kind of played out

this is a great point, i mean taking LSD at a huge festival in central park is inconceivable to me, truly horrifying, you'd think if they're gonna do HST cosplay they'd at least incorporate it more into their reporting. it sounds like they microdosed, it added nothing other than "lol... theyre high"
