not his most clever, I guess

Karl Malone, Wednesday, 18 July 2018 15:11 (seven years ago)

working to get that famous playboy humor just right lol

sprout god (lag∞n), Wednesday, 18 July 2018 15:51 (seven years ago)

also, the son is apparently already familiar with what it looks like when trees have human sex, so it's not so much like the twist is dad saying "actually they're fucking!" as it is the dad correcting him on the kind of fucking they're doing

Karl Malone, Wednesday, 18 July 2018 16:31 (seven years ago)

the trees could just be replaced with two real people doing it in the woods, and it would be the same joke

Karl Malone, Wednesday, 18 July 2018 16:32 (seven years ago)

holy shit, a talking tree!

mh, Wednesday, 18 July 2018 16:33 (seven years ago)

I don't see any breasts on the tree. Is that the joke?

pplains, Wednesday, 18 July 2018 16:50 (seven years ago)

I think I could probably do without his sex-themed cartoons.

Alba, Wednesday, 18 July 2018 16:52 (seven years ago)

yea I didn't really parse what the joke was exactly but it did make me laugh so it's not a failure

frogbs, Wednesday, 18 July 2018 16:55 (seven years ago)

he shd draw a sexy tree with tits

sprout god (lag∞n), Wednesday, 18 July 2018 16:57 (seven years ago)

does his work regularly appear in playboy? if so, i'd imagine he's at least happy to get a decent paycheck.

it's too bad, in a world that wasn't dumb his first 100 panels or so could just be syndicated in black in white in the cartoon section of hundreds of newspapers and they'd be by far the funniest thing in there every single day. but you're not allowed to have a syndicated cartoon unless you're completely bland and humorless or struck some sort of deal with satan back in the early 1980s.

Karl Malone, Wednesday, 18 July 2018 16:57 (seven years ago)

i mean the joke is pretty obvious and typical PBF, misunderstanding & inability to communicate

flappy bird, Wednesday, 18 July 2018 17:19 (seven years ago)

Should've been 'come on my buds', but otherwise I laughed.

Dan Worsley, Wednesday, 18 July 2018 17:22 (seven years ago)

the tree saying "unnngggh" is the funniest part

21st savagery fox (m bison), Wednesday, 18 July 2018 18:05 (seven years ago)

yes

flappy bird, Wednesday, 18 July 2018 18:06 (seven years ago)

1. a tree wouldn't do that
2. a tree wouldn't say that
3. holy shit a talking tree

mh, Wednesday, 18 July 2018 18:19 (seven years ago)

Olivia Jaimes

kelp, clam and carrion (sic), Wednesday, 18 July 2018 20:58 (seven years ago)

yea but even then she was just taking over a century-old comic strip

PBF is awesome but obviously a lot of that is due to the fact that the author doesn't have to crank 'em out every day, every week, or every month

frogbs, Wednesday, 18 July 2018 21:01 (seven years ago)

one month passes...

This is great:

Nhex, Wednesday, 12 September 2018 23:29 (seven years ago)

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Wednesday, 12 September 2018 23:31 (seven years ago)

:/

imago, Thursday, 13 September 2018 00:10 (seven years ago)

PBF just keeps getting more trenchant. Or more horny.

the bhagwanadook (symsymsym), Thursday, 13 September 2018 05:07 (seven years ago)

one month passes...

oh god the new one is hilarious (and very nsfw)

frogbs, Monday, 5 November 2018 15:09 (seven years ago)

Quite the epic tale

Mario Meatwagon (Moodles), Monday, 5 November 2018 15:34 (seven years ago)

is that the first one that is co-written?

Karl Malone, Monday, 5 November 2018 20:39 (seven years ago)

My favorite in a long long time

Vinnie, Tuesday, 6 November 2018 01:48 (seven years ago)

i'm so accustomed to the horniness of latter-day PBF that i assumed the giraffe cloud would be fucking something

Karl Malone, Tuesday, 6 November 2018 05:21 (seven years ago)

Wasn’t the dick cloud literally the first one?

I have measured out my life in coffee shop loyalty cards (silby), Tuesday, 6 November 2018 05:32 (seven years ago)

new one is top tier

flappy bird, Tuesday, 6 November 2018 06:02 (seven years ago)

It’s true, he’s returning to his horny roots

Karl Malone, Tuesday, 6 November 2018 06:20 (seven years ago)

didn't know he'd done so many recently, some of them are pretty weak. gentleworms & treatment (the toilet plunger head one) are both headscratchers. can someone could spell out the punchline to either of those? perhaps i'm being naive...

Toss another shrimpl air on the bbqbbq (ledge), Tuesday, 6 November 2018 12:38 (seven years ago)

Her psychiatrist has fixed her problems, but her husband is inevitably going to reverse all the progress they made (she is a toilet clogged with tampons, her husband is a box of tampons) - gentleworms is just a fairly silly take on the separation of soul and body, don't think there is that much to say about it.

mfktz (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Tuesday, 6 November 2018 12:47 (seven years ago)

ok maybe that is a bunch of tampons, i thought it looked like a pile of sheets or something. it's not exactly rofl material.

Toss another shrimpl air on the bbqbbq (ledge), Tuesday, 6 November 2018 13:00 (seven years ago)

Yeah, they have been hit and miss recently, both of those are misses imo. Otoh the new one is his best for a while.

mfktz (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Tuesday, 6 November 2018 13:09 (seven years ago)

I loved Treatment.

frogbs, Monday, 1 July 2019 20:46 (six years ago)

If there is a new PBF I rely on this thread to inform me. Clicked through the five or six before the one s.clover linked to and they're... not great.

Uptown VONC (Le Bateau Ivre), Monday, 1 July 2019 20:49 (six years ago)
