I've been thinking of life in terms of youth/adult plateau/senility where you're on the upswing for the first, relatively stable and living out the bulk of your years, and then a slight decline in the last part that echoes the lesser independence of youth and reliance on others

both of my grandfathers passed last year after spending some time in assisted living homes, though, so that may be weighing on my reasoning

I guess 37.5 and up is definitively late

34. Preferred 33 when I was the age of Christ when he died. Everything seemed to be looking up then

As Tom Lehrer once said, “when Mozart was my age, he had been dead for four years”

I turned 30 this year, so far so good, very relaxing.

Swilling Ambergris, Esq. (silby), Thursday, 14 November 2019 17:04 (six years ago)

33 1/2 now

I sorta fret about the fact that most weeks follow the same pattern, I have two kids so it's hard to get out of the 'routine' I have. but I have a house I like, a job I like, kids that I like, good beer in the fridge...I guess this is the life I wanted 10 years ago

frogbs, Thursday, 14 November 2019 17:08 (six years ago)

Why would you want anything other than a routine

Swilling Ambergris, Esq. (silby), Thursday, 14 November 2019 17:10 (six years ago)

35 this week. I can't believe how fast my 30s are going. I don't feel any different from when I was 28.

jmm, Thursday, 14 November 2019 18:01 (six years ago)

imago, Thursday, 14 November 2019 18:10 (six years ago)

I am feeling my age. Degenerative disc in neck acts up a lot, taking blood pressure meds, cholesterol borderline. Tired often.

Metal shows tho i de-age 15 years

Jordan Pickford LOLverdrive (Neanderthal), Thursday, 14 November 2019 18:16 (six years ago)

90 mins on a full pitch tonight and drank the young fellas off to bed afterwards, age is just a number but bmi as pertains to ability to soak alcohol is a core truth

deems of internment (darraghmac), Thursday, 14 November 2019 23:30 (six years ago)

30 yrs, 7 mos coming up in a few days. Feel honored to be the same age as silby.

Where I am now is not something I could have predicted. I have a partner I love very much, a job I hate very much, and I live in a city that I am sick of.

I gained 15 pounds in 2019. Don’t look my best, but I’m finding I care less about my appearance in my 30s. I used to be really vain.

treeship., Thursday, 14 November 2019 23:47 (six years ago)

treeship., Thursday, 14 November 2019 23:48 (six years ago)

treeship., Thursday, 14 November 2019 23:48 (six years ago)

I have one solitary grey hair in my beard

Jordan Pickford LOLverdrive (Neanderthal), Thursday, 14 November 2019 23:50 (six years ago)

I'm 36 in June and get paranoid with every new bodily twinge that it's the start of some permanent decline instead of a passing ache. I definitely drink less now. Ever since I turned 30s, I seem to get hangovers at the drop of a hat, and brutal ones at that--the kind where sitting up makes me vomit from migraines. I can still manage a cocktail or two if I ate right before, but that's about it. I started smoking grass at 30 (boy, if only those DARE stories about the easy availability of drugs had been true at my high school) so I haven't missed drinking much, to be honest, except for the social aspect.

Without school or a job that lends itself to socializing, I am increasingly aware of the difficulty of making new friends (I only have a handful due to changing social circles etc), and honestly afraid about becoming an old man with no support system. Guess I gotta find a hobby that gets me out of the house.
