itv (forget who) also said that it was yellow not red bcz the player was at least trying to go for the ball not the man

mark s, Sunday, 1 July 2018 21:02 (eight years ago)

Bilic was clearly really fucked off they showed all that.

Matt DC, Sunday, 1 July 2018 21:02 (eight years ago)

kinda don't matter at this point

fuck the NRA (Neanderthal), Sunday, 1 July 2018 21:02 (eight years ago)

fuck the NRA (Neanderthal), Sunday, 1 July 2018 21:02 (eight years ago)

Ref suggested it was only a yellow because he made a ‘genuine attempt to play the ball’.

Xp

Wag1 Shree Rajneesh (ShariVari), Sunday, 1 July 2018 21:03 (eight years ago)

Slaven Bilic genuinely pissed off at ITV panel laughing at replays of his reactions to the shootout - grumpy git but also OTM

shaqiri tip (nashwan), Sunday, 1 July 2018 21:03 (eight years ago)

I mean, I guess I should feel some sympathy for Croatia, since we only were at the Euro 92 championship because Yugoslavia got disqualified due to the wars. But we always lose to them, and the one time we beat them, in the qualification to the 98 World Cup, the assholes ended up qualifying anyway and making it to the semi finals :( I so wanted to beat them just once.

Frederik B, Sunday, 1 July 2018 21:10 (eight years ago)

fair enough dude, sucks to have a nemesis

Kroos on first (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 1 July 2018 21:15 (eight years ago)

the chipper Manc lad had got this...but his teammates hadn't

made the right decision to play for Denmark tbh - it's the family firm after all. plus he's the vanishingly rare example of the son who's (almost) as good as his dad

imago, Sunday, 1 July 2018 21:16 (eight years ago)

like, most superstar footballer's sons are spoilt wastemen but he's turned out one hell of a keeper

imago, Sunday, 1 July 2018 21:17 (eight years ago)

more of a chipper cheshire chap

wild that one of Russia, Croatia, Switzerland, Sweden, England or Colombia will be in the final.

ogmor, Sunday, 1 July 2018 21:18 (eight years ago)

Are Croatia just perennially overrated because of modric and rakatic? I think probably

i know kore-eda (or something), Sunday, 1 July 2018 21:27 (eight years ago)

they did almost not qualify... still if you were ranking world cup sides by number of players on champions league teams they would be in the top 6 or 7?

J0rdan S., Sunday, 1 July 2018 22:38 (eight years ago)

Also probably the "best" team on paper outside the usual 4 or 5 contenders and I guess pundits have got to say something when they're asked for their dark horse pick

Windsor Davies, Sunday, 1 July 2018 23:25 (eight years ago)

Colombia being in the final would be dope

Honestly can’t believe anyone in the USA roots for the USMNT over México in the first place

devops mom (silby), Monday, 2 July 2018 14:09 (eight years ago)

really?

I mean you must have missed Mexico's dire 2015 Gold Cup performance

fuck the NRA (Neanderthal), Monday, 2 July 2018 14:11 (eight years ago)

looking good so far tho

fuck the NRA (Neanderthal), Monday, 2 July 2018 14:12 (eight years ago)

I have missed 100% of soccer mind you I just find it sort of distasteful to root for the USA when el mundo hispanohablante is out there

devops mom (silby), Monday, 2 July 2018 14:13 (eight years ago)

First 15 minutes of this has been better than all of yesterday

Kroos on first (Noodle Vague), Monday, 2 July 2018 14:18 (eight years ago)

from what I've seen so far brazil look pretty useless with gabriel jesus politely trotting around from ineffective position to ineffective position, waiting for something to be dropped into his lap

ogmor, Monday, 2 July 2018 14:21 (eight years ago)

samba vs sombrero in samara sez rte man

im in a pub full of Brazilians its good but itll be better when they lose

the last famous poster you were surprised to discover was actually (darraghmac), Monday, 2 July 2018 14:21 (eight years ago)

mmmfff did well to withstand that burst

the last famous poster you were surprised to discover was actually (darraghmac), Monday, 2 July 2018 14:28 (eight years ago)

Seems like Brazil have a habit of persisting with players who just aren't performing, the last WC it was the Old Fred, this time it's Gabriel Jesus.

Alan Alba (Tom D.), Monday, 2 July 2018 14:30 (eight years ago)

this is as open as I was hoping. the goals will come. agree with Mexico waiting too long for uncontested opps

fuck the NRA (Neanderthal), Monday, 2 July 2018 14:30 (eight years ago)

Brazil always have these guys tbf

the last famous poster you were surprised to discover was actually (darraghmac), Monday, 2 July 2018 14:31 (eight years ago)

Brazil terrible but luckily for them Mexico are pretty toothless. This isn't a good game

i know kore-eda (or something), Monday, 2 July 2018 14:32 (eight years ago)

Suddenly Jesus rises

Kroos on first (Noodle Vague), Monday, 2 July 2018 14:33 (eight years ago)
