I wish I could find the facebook comment a friend made to the effect that the Nazis in 1933 weren't the 1939 Nazis or the 1943 Nazis either, and maybe this administration will or won't head all the way in that direction but it's bad enough as it is and there are certainly signs.

I think it's safe to assume that any group which strongly emphasizes their white identity is ultimately capable of any of the heinous shit which has historically been perpetrated by those who did likewise. It's a banner which functions as a tacit justification for psychotic behavior.

I'd told my kids we were going to the march/protest tomorrow, and they didn't really say much (that's just what mom and do every few months). But I learned today that on her own my older kid convinced a couple of her friends to come, too, and they're apparently getting together tonight to make signs. It's a win-win: protest and crafts!
