her punishment is that she gave the restaurant that 86’d her a bunch of free publicity, excellent work by a true communications professional

free publicity and probably now a target of threats by insane dumbasses from around the country. a friend of mine works at a really nice restaurant in DC called The Red Hen. it's not the one that sanders visited, and it's unaffiliated. even this unaffiliated restaurant is getting bombarded with 1-star reviews on yelp, and is anticipating threats. i'm sure it's much much worse for the real thing

Went on the Red Hen's Yelp page to have a good lol at the Magaists' reviews and here is what the admins are doing:

So emblematic of the red hatter's that when one of their queens spots them the exact location of the restaurant to bombard, they still get it wrong. I imagine there are Red Hen restaurants and businesses getting a similar treatment in Washington STATE now too.

I don't own a restaurant, but if I did, and if a person I didn't like tried to patronize my restaurant, and I would rather they not but had already done so, I would think that instead of asking them for a private word out on the patio with the intention of asking them to leave, I'd prefer to politely confront them in front of everyone with the reasons I didn't like them, and then let them know their meal was on the house before letting them go ahead and leave whenever they felt sufficiently humiliated enough to do so. But straight up asking someone to leave, whether you take them aside privately beforehand or not, is frankly unamerican.
― del griffith, Saturday, 23 June 2018 23:22 (eight years ago)
Hey, maybe the next restaurant visited by an administration official will preempt any possible retaliatory action by never letting said official leave their establishment again. Something about the thought of Trump's cabinet chained up in various bistro basements across DC makes feel all warm and fuzzy.

I agree and I think the way the Hamilton cast addressed Mike Pence, for example, is a better thing to do...however that actor revealed recently that he was bombarded with death threats for ages after that. so no fucking pleasing everyone. MAGAs don't give a fuck if you're polite or not

The Washington Post reports:
The White House’s hastily crafted executive order to end child separations spurred confusion and fights within the federal government, and second-guessing from the president who had demanded the order in the first place.
In private conversations with aides, Trump said he wanted to sign a full immigration bill as part of an executive order, which one administration official described as “a pretty insane idea.” The president was told by government lawyers that he could not change immigration law by fiat, said a person familiar with the discussions.
Trump then demanded that an executive order be written, and said he wanted it on his desk for signing by that afternoon, according to people involved in the discussions. Given hours to produce a complex legal document, government lawyers crafted one that met the moment’s political demands but only added to confusion within the agencies tasked with implementing it.

It’s very sad that Nancy Pelosi and her sidekick, Cryin’ Chuck Schumer, want to protect illegal immigrants far more than the citizens of our country. The United States cannot stand for this. We wants safety and security at our borders!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 23, 2018

Again with this 'far more' shit. How about this: I care far more about protecting undocumented immigrants than I do about protecting you and the people who enable you. If I had the power, I would reassign the Secret Service to protecting them and leaving you to fend for yourself. Signed, a lib.

On the reorganization stuff, I have been approached by a client about doing some consulting work on the proposed GSA/OPM merger. I'm not even remotely interested in helping these mousefuckers (even if they were to accidentally try to do something beneficial, as Karl says) so no. But it's also not going to happen. I am not sure how harshly I should judge people who want to make money off of failure, but that's a separate question.
but it kind of seems obvious to me that militaries from across the world will be in space

HOUSTON — Central American men separated from their children and held in a detention facility outside Houston are being told they can reunite with their kids at the airport if they agree to sign a voluntary deportation order now, according to one migrant at the facility and two immigration attorneys who have spoken to detainees there.
