I find the nyc restaurant/bar reviews useful but you have to filter out all the people who give one-star write-ups to williamsburg bars and restaurants that just say "full of hipsters!!#%@$!"

even with all that type of junk there seems to be more "real people" honest reviews and less shills than on places like citysearch

if your looking for a Mexican place to eat and talk this is one of the best place to do is also always clean and the people Mis paisanas always nice don't be freak to go in i know from the out side and the neighborhood is not that great but is really good good food the prices are from 6 to 10 dolares for a plate. but carefully if you go you have to spend more then 15 dollars to use your credit card. waitress are great good costumer service they have mexican coca cola en botella too

Sites like Yelp will never ever replace having actual friends who know things for recommendations.

My impression is the quality of Yelp contributions on the WC is greater than that on the East.

I fear what Vancouver Yelp would be like.
