No healthy democracy should have such a thing as a large Trump base, to begin with so in normal circumstances it would be a stupid plan, but let's not pretend like they didn't struck gold and they don't have monstrous calculations on how to mine racism and xenophobia in the coming months/years for their benefits. Melania may be in or out of these calculations with her jacket moment (I think she was fwiw), it doesn't matter as much as the White House refusing to make a clear apology and them once again mining the moment and portraying Melania as some sort of conspiracy victim.

As I said before all the field ICE/border patrol I have met had histories of domestic abuse/violence allegations. I am sure if they abolish ICE, they can find jobs at their local PD.
