any fantasy movie without elves

flappy bird, Tuesday, 29 May 2018 22:09 (eight years ago)

There's a whole category of things (at least they are grouped together in my mind as a category) that seem to involve semi-ironically dressing up in an old-timey high society sort of way. These include the kentucky derby, royal weddings, and some sort of event they have on governors island that I think involves dancing?

Yeah. Apparently he has 7.3 million subscribers.
I do have a habit of clicking on pointless nonsense, so the algorithm's probably just throwing everything at the wall.

Between the World Cup and Love Island, I have to keep a very good check on my DNGAF quotient

My name is the Pope and in the 90s I smoked a lot of dope (dog latin), Thursday, 14 June 2018 10:43 (seven years ago)

noted, and couldn't gaf about DL DNGAF levels for the former, agree with the latter.

i may or may not be married to the HR officer for the film production company of one of the above events

it may or may not be the one id prefer

tired culché (darraghmac), Thursday, 14 June 2018 10:56 (seven years ago)

It was only after I watched Frankie Boyle's TV show the other week (I know, I know) that I discovered Love Island isn't actually an island.

Ward Fowler, Thursday, 14 June 2018 10:58 (seven years ago)

it's not? oh shit no i don't care i don't care

My name is the Pope and in the 90s I smoked a lot of dope (dog latin), Thursday, 14 June 2018 11:14 (seven years ago)

i liked watching Love Island with my daughter last week cos it's really designed to sit and joke about it with somebody else

obv i feel the pain of non-football fans subjected to World Cup fever for a month but tbh we all have to live surrounded by bullshit fever for some shitty cultural thing that we don't care about 99 percent of the time so i think people shd really be able to manage just fine and suffer in silence

"Africa" by Toto

flappy bird, Monday, 18 June 2018 18:11 (seven years ago)

it’s no ‘rosanna’ right enough

CARL MARKS PRINCIPAL INVESTING AND ADVISORY SERVICES (bizarro gazzara), Monday, 18 June 2018 18:15 (seven years ago)

I never liked the song but I never really hated it. as far as I can remember it was always a joke, like 'Never Gonna Give You Up' even pre-Rickroll. I don't understand the sudden surge in ironic/or is it? talk of Toto's 'Africa.'

flappy bird, Monday, 18 June 2018 18:17 (seven years ago)

it just seems like a meme that arrived 10 years late

flappy bird, Monday, 18 June 2018 18:18 (seven years ago)

I like it, it's a good song, but not that good.

We can be herpes (Tom D.), Monday, 18 June 2018 18:19 (seven years ago)

My name is the Pope and in the 90s I smoked a lot of dope (dog latin), Monday, 18 June 2018 19:43 (seven years ago)

I've started really liking it after listening to EccoJams a lot earlier this year.

Frederik B, Monday, 18 June 2018 20:01 (seven years ago)

i like it a lot, i like "never gonna give you up" too.

its a shit song but at least its no susanna

tired culché (darraghmac), Monday, 18 June 2018 22:51 (seven years ago)

Africa by Toto was in GTA: Vice City making it a favourite lol 80s song of a whole generation. But that predated current social media, and perhaps the subsequent generation is catching on to it now? (feel like maybe this isn't the case and it's all 30 year olds creating the Africa content)
