That was a grade school orchestra level mess, from beginning to end.

Twyla Thwoorp (Leee), Saturday, 5 May 2018 20:37 (eight years ago)

Vixen and Asia teaming up a second time.

Kameron is going somehow make it into the final having spoken the least out of all of them.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 11 May 2018 04:16 (eight years ago)

This could be the red herring win, like the one Ivy Winters won right before getting kicked off.

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Friday, 11 May 2018 12:08 (eight years ago)

That said, Kameron’s runway looks have been consistently very good to great, so it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world if she did make it to the finish line.

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Friday, 11 May 2018 12:09 (eight years ago)

I loved Ru's suit in this episode, and how he has bounced back from whatever illness he had at the start of the season. The slap challenge was one of my favourite mini challenges.

trishyb, Friday, 11 May 2018 13:07 (eight years ago)

The preview half hinted at that but they pull bait and switches like that all the time.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 11 May 2018 13:29 (eight years ago)

Yeah, if the follow up is, like the perfume challenge in S5, where Kameron ends up wiping out, then I expect it could also be where the currently winless Miz Cracker, much like Alaska, finally gets some wind in her sails.

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Friday, 11 May 2018 13:31 (eight years ago)

Asia's lipsync was so joyful and, dare I say, delightful.

Twyla Thwoorp (Leee), Friday, 11 May 2018 23:09 (eight years ago)

Great choice of song too -- amazed it had never turned up until now!

Ned Raggett, Friday, 11 May 2018 23:10 (eight years ago)

That heart-to-heart btw Asia & Vixen was wise & kind & so beautiful. Asia literally turned my face into a heart. She has such a kindness in her.

I loved this mini challenge, I loved this challenge, the lipsync, the judges. Good stuff all round.

Monet could be Bob the Drag Queen level great if she just polished her look. It’s like she hurries or something, every week it’s like “OH! ...oh.” The visible tape this week majorly bummed me ouuuut bcz she was SO good as Cher. My fave by far.

Squeaky Fromage (VegemiteGrrl), Saturday, 12 May 2018 04:59 (eight years ago)

Sad that Vixen left bc I love her fire & she’s so rad but also my god that child is kinda exhausting too

Squeaky Fromage (VegemiteGrrl), Saturday, 12 May 2018 05:00 (eight years ago)

Bob sometimes had polish issues too iirc

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Saturday, 12 May 2018 15:38 (eight years ago)

How has Kameron been so invisible??? Like do the editors seriously have no material to work with?

the masseduction of lauryn hill (Stevie D(eux)), Saturday, 12 May 2018 15:42 (eight years ago)

In one of her recap videos, Cracker said that Kameron made a conscious decision to not give the editors anything they might use to distort her.

Twyla Thwoorp (Leee), Saturday, 12 May 2018 15:55 (eight years ago)

Willam said that’s exactly what Roxxxy did during AS2. Don’t give them the drama, they’ll keep you there longer, waiting for it

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Saturday, 12 May 2018 16:15 (eight years ago)

Can't say Vixen isn't making her moment work for her:

So @TheVixensworld performed at Battle on the Runway tonight and did a performance mashed up with CHUN LI like a GAWDESS pic.twitter.com/M8ne9DuNNV

Ned Raggett, Saturday, 12 May 2018 16:52 (eight years ago)

And yeah re Kameron, it also helps that there were such big personalities playing off each other that she could more easily hide in plain sight. That Untucked discussion this week is telling in turn.

Ned Raggett, Saturday, 12 May 2018 16:53 (eight years ago)

i don't usually watch michelle's segment after the show (or that plays after the show when you watch drag race online) but the vixen came off much better in that, and looked super cute w/ some stubble to boot. this is besides the point but the vixen really should model, aside from doing drag.

in any event, i find the ongoing discussion on the show about the concept of the angry black woman to be very interesting... i wonder if there's ever been another moment in reality tv history where there was a real time on camera meta conversation about how the show might portray one its contestants vis a vis a racial stereotype, and then that discussion being aired on TV and made the dominant storyline of the season? i find it hard to call heads or tails on the vixen either way bcuz of the inherent manipulation of everything we see, but i put a lot of stock in asia's analysis of the whole situation in this most recent episode.

J0rdan S., Saturday, 12 May 2018 17:33 (eight years ago)

otm

Squeaky Fromage (VegemiteGrrl), Saturday, 12 May 2018 17:41 (eight years ago)

that was a good post, J0rdan

very sad at the dastardly edit/ru-ception Miz Cracker is getting this season; i guess it is what happens when you follow directly after a Trixie Mattel win

final 3 looking to me like:
eureka (ugh)
aquaria (sigh) [or conceivably kameron (?!)]
asia (go go go go)

sean gramophone, Monday, 14 May 2018 02:09 (eight years ago)

Final four, surely, based on last year.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 14 May 2018 02:10 (eight years ago)

oops i skipped s9

that changes things; hmmm

sean gramophone, Monday, 14 May 2018 02:13 (eight years ago)

I kinda hope Aquaria doesn't make it to the final 3; I want Cracker to get there instead.

Squeaky Fromage (VegemiteGrrl), Monday, 14 May 2018 03:19 (eight years ago)

cracker is downright wonderful

but imo it's clear at this stage that the producers/ru herself are not big fans, or at least aren't excited about another white comedy queen for s10.

sean gramophone, Monday, 14 May 2018 11:29 (eight years ago)

Isn't that what Eureka is, too?

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Monday, 14 May 2018 13:15 (eight years ago)

"we need a big girl to win"

sean gramophone, Monday, 14 May 2018 13:50 (eight years ago)

Miss ... Vanjie!

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Monday, 14 May 2018 13:56 (eight years ago)

You know part of me wants the final to have the top four do their thing and then Ru awards it to Miss Vanjie for the hell of it.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 14 May 2018 13:59 (eight years ago)

Vanjie and that sponge have already gotten more quality screen time than anyone else.

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Monday, 14 May 2018 14:00 (eight years ago)

Anyway, at this point, I'd say that yeah, Cracker and Monet seem the least likely to make the final four.

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Monday, 14 May 2018 14:03 (eight years ago)

idk cracker hasn't even lip synced yet, and comedy queens to me always have a leg up when it comes to making the final 4 even tho they can be passed up to win

J0rdan S., Monday, 14 May 2018 15:38 (eight years ago)

Okay I sensed that coming. But it WAS a good lip sync.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 18 May 2018 04:32 (eight years ago)

I mean, it was very good, but so was the previous week's. The only difference last week was that there was a "villain" to dispatch.

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Friday, 18 May 2018 12:38 (eight years ago)

Agreed. Also I do wonder what it would have been like if someone had been sent home this week -- is one of next week's makeover guests on standby?

Ned Raggett, Friday, 18 May 2018 12:55 (eight years ago)

God, I found that challenge painful, though. Unfunny, overlong, POOR.

trishyb, Friday, 18 May 2018 22:47 (eight years ago)

Next week's is MUCH more interesting already.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 18 May 2018 22:56 (eight years ago)

It's a fine line between camp and crap, but this season's written challenges seem far more on the latter side than usual.

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Saturday, 19 May 2018 02:04 (eight years ago)

Agreed. Bearing in mind the calibre of the queens this season, I haven’t found it as entertaining as previous ones.

Madchen, Saturday, 19 May 2018 06:19 (eight years ago)

I'm guessing that Cracker approaches her comedy analytically, so when she didn't win any of the comedy challenges, she started getting in her head and is kind of in a vicious cycle of self-doubt. And that's kind of emblematic of this bizarro season, where the look queens are outperforming the comedy queens in the comedy challenges. (Acquarium can be intentionally funny, who'da thunk?)

Loving Asia, though, a den mother who can also turn it out!

Twyla Thwoorp (Leee), Saturday, 19 May 2018 20:50 (eight years ago)

Asia was awesome this week. I loved her old age look so much 😂

Squeaky Fromage (VegemiteGrrl), Saturday, 19 May 2018 23:17 (eight years ago)

Some great official postings from DragCon going up. Season 3 reunion's a treat.

Ned Raggett, Sunday, 20 May 2018 03:13 (eight years ago)

realized i should stop watching raja and raven's photo fashion ruview when watching it became like the two-minutes hate from 1984.

clouds, Sunday, 20 May 2018 14:01 (eight years ago)

the fact that raven wants to read someone else's looks while looking like victoria beckham crossed with lady elaine from mister roger's neighborhood is just... i can't

clouds, Sunday, 20 May 2018 14:03 (eight years ago)

yeah I have been wrestling with that too

Squeaky Fromage (VegemiteGrrl), Sunday, 20 May 2018 15:14 (eight years ago)

Aja and Manila are both great standins -- the DragCon live RuView this year was Raja and Aja and it was funny as hell.

Ned Raggett, Sunday, 20 May 2018 15:37 (eight years ago)

agreed with that. would actually love just an aja fashion review.

clouds, Sunday, 20 May 2018 16:58 (eight years ago)

Raja, even when she’s dismissive, still has an energy that I dig.

nourish nourish your turtleheart (Eric H.), Sunday, 20 May 2018 17:34 (eight years ago)

Raven is very rigid & set in her ways

Squeaky Fromage (VegemiteGrrl), Sunday, 20 May 2018 19:46 (eight years ago)
