As someone who suffered through the Jerry Scott era (and never read any of the Gilchrist stuff), this is kind of amazing.

Even if I hadn't suffered through the Jerry Scott era, it'd still be amazing.

These new strips are pretty good! I like all the modern tech gags. They do a good job of keeping the Bushmiller sensibility and style, but also feel fresh. My only gripe is that some of the adults look off-brand.

Holy crap, I didn't realize they started in 1995. I assumed that strip was from the 60s or 70s.

That's because they buy programming from national PBS and stuff like Moody Blues concerts were paid for a long long time ago.

yeah but the rights to air them don't actually last that long

iirc they mostly show the “live at red rocks” which was kind of donated as a fundraiser show in 1993 or something. It’s up there with the mannheim steamroller christmas music shows in the rotation.

I'd be willimg to believe the Moody Blues paid for a Nancy feature back in the 60s. It was a prestige move.

Moody Blues were on the Simpsons roughly the same time (The Homer & Flanders Go To Vegas ep).
