i think i might get one, realised there was quite a few folk who i'd like to follow. Though no doubt my tweets will be ultra inane.

obviously with the caveat i made two posts above.
not rude, I just spend an inordinate time trying to figure out why ppl I don't know would follow me is it
― autogoon crew for coldplay (The Reverend), Friday, 22 May 2009 00:39 (seventeen years ago)
It's depressing when 99% of people who start following you are not actual people but evil spam bots.
― krakow, Friday, 22 May 2009 07:18 (seventeen years ago)
evil spam bots or otherwise people who just seem to have nothing in common with you. that's unfortunate, because i'm always looking for cool new people/entities to follow.

there's all kinds of music bloggers or whatever that have 3x as many followers than me, and they all follow 1,000+ people. Just adding people to juke your stats number is the saddest shit in the world imo

Any suggestions for software or websites to manage multiple twitter accounts (on Windows)?
I've ended up with 3 twitter identities with distinct purposes and am finding it a real pain to switch from one to the other. I'd love a website where I could quickly select which one I was viewing or posting as via a simple drop down box, or via a series of tabs...
Is such a thing possible? Available?
― krakow, Wednesday, 27 May 2009 21:42 (seventeen years ago)
Trying http://www.twitiq.com/ which offers what I was looking for.
Looking good initially.
A google for 'managing multiple twitter accounts' gave me a plethora of choices. Anyone used this one or any others?
― krakow, Wednesday, 27 May 2009 22:39 (seventeen years ago)
I use twhirl, very sleek and basic interface, which I like.
― ti's girl on the outside (musically), Wednesday, 27 May 2009 23:09 (seventeen years ago)
I don't have multiple accounts but it provides the option to add more and more.
― ti's girl on the outside (musically), Wednesday, 27 May 2009 23:10 (seventeen years ago)
So let me get this straight, if someone with a protected feed starts watching you, you don't automatically get to see their protected content? Isn't that how most social networks work?
― ti's girl on the outside (musically), Monday, 8 June 2009 23:42 (seventeen years ago)
There's one account for the friends and one for stalking pop stars and the foods they eat. Never confuse the two.
― Cunga, Tuesday, 9 June 2009 01:29 (seventeen years ago)
#spymaster can #suck my knob. People are going to get unfollowed for that shit, stat. (No ILXers doing it, mind. Which is telling.)

yeah ILX ppl I'm following have been generally abstained from hashtag wankery, which is nice.

Yeah, and it's quite something how Twitter has grown out to be the biggest source of information from Iran, since most journalists are being thrown out or held in prison.

iPhone TweetDeck: initially confusing, quickly great. Syncing with the desktop version not quite as easy as it should be.
― a tiny, faltering megaphone (grimly fiendish), Thursday, 18 June 2009 10:02 (seventeen years ago)
I'm not understanding the 'mark as seen' icon - it doesn't seem to do anything. Actually even the desktop version never seemed to remembered what I have cleared as seen.
― baaderonixx, Thursday, 18 June 2009 10:08 (seventeen years ago)
Hmm. I hit it once and it got rid of an annoying red number at the bottom of the screen :) I'll need to use it in practice to see if it's actually doing anything else.
