we're taking a break (and saving a little cash) from the excellent Sump beans i've bragged on on here. been drinking this ikea coffee we've had in the cabinet that we got as kind of a joke. like, how good could it be! well, it's a little weird but not awful. still prepare it pour-over style cuz we no longer have a drip maker.

Now I am on columbia 8 o clock whole bean , but adding one scoop of cafe bustelo

iced coffee is best in a clear glass imo

generally hot coffee should never be in a glass, but one exception is for cortados, i dig those little cortado glasses

i accept these exceptions

It can be kind of cool to see the layering of espresso/milk/foam from side view when it's done well. I generally prefer ceramic but I don't have a special objection to hot coffee in glass tbh.

i miss little lattes in glasses like they have everywhere in Melbourne

i always perceive the coffee to be hotter and weaker from a glass. i don't even want to drink it. a dark, heavy mug is my preference.

I have red ceramic, but usually my tea cup (Chinese purple clay w/ white glazed interior) is the only thing sitting in the sink. I like the idea of getting a set of French coffee bowls:

a cafe here serves their lattes in those french bowls, I like it but it also kind of feels like drinking my cereal milk as a kid.

I think they mean it more in the sense of the anti-globalism movement that took off in the 90s and had special traction in France. As in globalism replacing local culture. Which is very silly in the case of coffee, a product that has been inherently globalist for centuries.

Glass keep cup is the way to go, but silicone band as it is easier to wash.

Also French coffee is the worst.

Proper keep cup method is to drink from the glass and use the lid to stop brown goo accumulating at the bottom of one’s bag.

Keep cup is a reusable coffee cup, not insulated, although given that it’s targetted at espresso drinks I don’t think that’s a problem, drink before they get cold.
