The stuff about class in Cheers seems p real to me now that I live in the approximate Greater Boston Area. I don't know what stratum of Pacific Northwest society Frasier and Niles would even be aspiring to; if anything, the joke seems to be that they don't know themselves?

Slightly sad that the American market for physical media is still ~45% 480p DVD, a dozen years after the introduction of backwards compatible 1080p blu-ray players. As an American with only a 120" screen, I own the UK S1 blu-ray, and am also sad that S2 won't be released until Feb 11, 2019.

Nope. A refurbed projector was cheaper than a panel TV. Its pretty ideal for me, as I don't "watch TV", I put on films for (sometimes) a couple hours a day.

However, this does make my DVD collection mostly accumulated a decade ago look pants. What you don't notice at 42" (resolution, compression artifacts) is pretty damn evident at 120".

NBC was pretty shrewd with restricting access to the good place season 2 via streaming.. I was only able to watch earlier eps (more recent ones were on hulu) via the nbc app, which required a cable subscription

I'm glad everyone else enjoyed it! It just felt really flat to me for some reason. Some good gags, though; hopefully it's just the work of establishing the stage.

I loved how they answered all the fan questions about what language Chidi speaks, and about his accent. And I love Simone. Between this, Killing Eve, and Barry, Kirby Howell Baptiste is having some year. Fair play to her.
