Curling is something I love to watch for whatever reason (it's a bit like ASMR for me). I think what drew me in originally is John Shuster. He reminds me of Kevin James without the jokes. He's a bit like a regular Joe but with the confidence, knowledge and skill that comes with patience and practice - sort of like an every man character that beat the system by devoting himself to a sport that doesn't require 2 hours of extreme exercise every morning. Needless to say, this year's comeback for gold was very satisfying.

i am currently at a caring deficit. can't really think of too many things i care about. on the other hand, i was reading oscar wilde's essay on socialism before bed last night and i'm still trying to figure out how you have a world where most people are fed and free and active and thriving. it's a conundrum. i keep thinking about the part where he says using private property to feed poor people and keep them alive is cruel because private property is keeping them poor.
