"Howe has the glamour of the modern about him"

well his face looks like spam, and I guess that's modern.

calzino, Thursday, 22 February 2018 11:21 (eight years ago)

I'll always side up with a baldie over some cunt who has had the same hairstyle for 20 years.

calzino, Thursday, 22 February 2018 11:25 (eight years ago)

If you like an annoyingly chipper 1950's twat in the UK you've got it made.

calzino, Thursday, 22 February 2018 11:37 (eight years ago)

*look like*

calzino, Thursday, 22 February 2018 11:37 (eight years ago)

And yet everyone continues to underrate Sean Dyche ;_;

― Matt DC, Thursday, 22 February 2018

By "everyone" I assume you mean "the owners and chief execs of the richest clubs in England"? I think I've heard rather a lot of noise about how good a job SD has done at Burnley?

Seems to me SD offers a (much) more likeable / more articulate version of Allardyce's mill-town technopragmatism.

Tim, Thursday, 22 February 2018 11:39 (eight years ago)

Tim otm. SD underlines the modern, more likeable by eating worms. Great kings let the people feel he's one of their own.

Le Bateau Ivre, Thursday, 22 February 2018 11:43 (eight years ago)

Gave a great hourlong interview in the second captains players chair a few months back did underrated Sean dyche

Planck Blather (darraghmac), Thursday, 22 February 2018 11:45 (eight years ago)

the extra % you get out of players by eating worms, can't be underestimated imo.

calzino, Thursday, 22 February 2018 11:50 (eight years ago)

I bet Eddie Howe underestimates the effectiveness of worm-munchery.

Tim, Thursday, 22 February 2018 11:53 (eight years ago)

Another compelling argument against artificial pitches imo.

Video reach stereo bog (Tom D.), Thursday, 22 February 2018 11:55 (eight years ago)

I sometimes wonder if some of the more extreme examples of diva-ish "superstar" type players might not connect with your more erm.. down to earth type managers. Like they might relate easier to older fellow narcissistic poseur types and recognise in them the same personality disorders they have. I'm probably talking shite, time for some more wirrums!

calzino, Thursday, 22 February 2018 12:09 (eight years ago)

In a positive or negative way?

Plenty of examples of both types of manager not getting best out of young superstars tbf

Planck Blather (darraghmac), Thursday, 22 February 2018 12:20 (eight years ago)

I think I've heard rather a lot of noise about how good a job SD has done at Burnley?

That was the joke, people have been constantly banging on about it for months.

Matt DC, Thursday, 22 February 2018 12:31 (eight years ago)

My favourite Sean Dyche story is about the time he sat Kieran Trippier down to explain the Hacienda to him.

Matt DC, Thursday, 22 February 2018 12:32 (eight years ago)

Kieran still thinks he meant the macarena bless

Planck Blather (darraghmac), Thursday, 22 February 2018 12:43 (eight years ago)

Haha sorry Matt, I made the mistake of underrating the deliciousness of your irony.

Tim, Thursday, 22 February 2018 13:03 (eight years ago)

Le Bateau Ivre, Friday, 23 February 2018 16:36 (eight years ago)

Unless that ribbon was made by child labour it's got no place in the Prem

smashong pumpgong (Noodle Vague), Friday, 23 February 2018 16:37 (eight years ago)

Le Bateau Ivre, Friday, 23 February 2018 16:38 (eight years ago)

Planck Blather (darraghmac), Friday, 23 February 2018 16:40 (eight years ago)

Le Bateau Ivre, Saturday, 24 February 2018 17:23 (eight years ago)

The standard of football in that Watford Everton game was unforgivable

Well bissogled trotters (Michael B), Saturday, 24 February 2018 19:53 (eight years ago)

lol I watched some of it, it was very bad, but mostly from Everton

imago, Saturday, 24 February 2018 20:01 (eight years ago)

I've developed a weak spot for teams like Brighton and Watford, who are doing pretty well with limited means. Everton can get tae fuck though (sorry Michael J. :-/)

Le Bateau Ivre, Saturday, 24 February 2018 20:24 (eight years ago)

Simpson L. (darraghmac), Sunday, 25 February 2018 12:20 (eight years ago)

So theoretically one could strangle Kane with a bootlace in the box, as long as he's offside? No penalty?

Le Bateau Ivre, Sunday, 25 February 2018 12:36 (eight years ago)

Red card possible but no free/penalty

Simpson L. (darraghmac), Sunday, 25 February 2018 12:37 (eight years ago)

Simpson L. (darraghmac), Sunday, 25 February 2018 12:37 (eight years ago)

Aurier the mythical "good in attack" that lazy writers use when a full back often has the ball high up the pitch despite doing the wrong or the shit thing every fucking time

Simpson L. (darraghmac), Sunday, 25 February 2018 13:10 (eight years ago)

Three foul throws in one game
