Juventus also want him apparently.

The Makalele Paradox

But doctor, I am Camille Paglia (Bananaman Begins), Thursday, 1 February 2018 18:56 (eight years ago)

sorry, but I can't give Eriksen much credit for that performance. He had a tougher time of it against Ireland's midfield

Number None, Thursday, 1 February 2018 20:15 (eight years ago)

Ashley Young was not good last night either. He's been "good" this season, but he's a shite full-back at the end of the day. Shaw has been performing well in that role for the last 4-5 games, but Mourinho will never trust him when the chips are down

Number None, Thursday, 1 February 2018 20:19 (eight years ago)

@NevilleSouthall

Everton had enquiries for 5 players and there’s me thinking donkey sanctuary was full

Well bissogled trotters (Michael B), Thursday, 1 February 2018 20:43 (eight years ago)

not as woke as a lot of Big Nev's recent material

He was on the ball in tight spaces for the entire game linking up with everyone, and the quality of his passes is so high. Hard, quick, in the right place. Build up for the second goal for example, all about him.

Thought Sanchez (the defender) was absolutely brilliant also. He's been an excellent buy.

in twelve parts (lamonti), Friday, 2 February 2018 07:25 (eight years ago)

He's obviously a good player (certainly on Coutinho's level or better) but Spurs scored two fairly jammy goals against an utter shambles of a team. Let's not go overboard

Number None, Friday, 2 February 2018 07:50 (eight years ago)

We battered second. In a game that mattered when frankly we would've expected to be josed

Trippier >>>>>> aurier btw

Alderweireld Horses (darraghmac), Friday, 2 February 2018 08:09 (eight years ago)

I don't think anyone's getting josed any more. Jose is josed out.

Le Bateau Ivre, Friday, 2 February 2018 08:10 (eight years ago)

That's what he wants you to think ahead of the big arsenal move

Alderweireld Horses (darraghmac), Friday, 2 February 2018 08:10 (eight years ago)

Touché :)

Le Bateau Ivre, Friday, 2 February 2018 08:11 (eight years ago)

You only realise how good Eriksen actually is when we're forced to play without him.

Enjoying this story about Leicester pointedly refusing to sell a player to West Ham because of a pissy article that Karren Brady wrote about them a year ago. And West Ham making a disproportionate amount of noise about signing a 21-year old from Solihull Moors with a conspicuously African-sounding name.

Matt DC, Friday, 2 February 2018 09:49 (eight years ago)

i love west ham at the moment, need more moyes headlines tho

nxd, Friday, 2 February 2018 10:07 (eight years ago)

Lovable bunch

Le Bateau Ivre, Friday, 2 February 2018 10:40 (eight years ago)

Wd be great if come the summer West Ham are deluged by clubs and agents looking to palm off mediocre/injury prone/actually really bad attitude African players for way over the odds, and they're forced to sign a whole bunch of them to try and launder the stink of this affair.

But doctor, I am Camille Paglia (Bananaman Begins), Friday, 2 February 2018 10:47 (eight years ago)

Moyes just can't be doing with lads enjoying themselves, there's no place for that in football.

slouching towards depresslehem (Noodle Vague), Friday, 2 February 2018 10:50 (eight years ago)

xp That's not to get into interrogating the whole concept of 'bad attitude' in football, what purposes it serves, etc.

But doctor, I am Camille Paglia (Bananaman Begins), Friday, 2 February 2018 10:53 (eight years ago)

I did not know there was still a football thread on ILE.

the pinefox, Friday, 2 February 2018 12:58 (eight years ago)

Riyad Mahrez will not play for Leicester - he is 'feeling so low that he is not in the right frame of mind'.

the pinefox, Friday, 2 February 2018 13:14 (eight years ago)

I can see Foxes sticking to their guns, Mahrez not playing for a month or so, fined, until he leaves in the summer, to never fully find his form again. Just like Van Dijk.

Le Bateau Ivre, Friday, 2 February 2018 13:19 (eight years ago)

Looking through every team's transfer window outcome, the most striking thing overall is that most clubs seem to have got rid of far more players than they have acquired. A lot of squad slimming and wage trimming.

the pinefox, Friday, 2 February 2018 13:25 (eight years ago)

THFC have signed one player and loaned out five.

the pinefox, Friday, 2 February 2018 13:25 (eight years ago)

Isn't it same as it ever was there though, most youth players dissipate at the end of one transfer window or another

Alderweireld Horses (darraghmac), Friday, 2 February 2018 13:28 (eight years ago)

I feel very low in meself

Video reach stereo bog (Tom D.), Friday, 2 February 2018 14:08 (eight years ago)

That two months filling in for Leroy Sane is, alas, the impossible dream.

Matt DC, Friday, 2 February 2018 14:18 (eight years ago)

Aching Proustian nostalgia for the spring of 2016 and men with mockney accents in pubs shouting GUWAARN REEYAD! at the big screen as he skinned yet another full back

But doctor, I am Camille Paglia (Bananaman Begins), Friday, 2 February 2018 14:25 (eight years ago)

xp Yeah I don't suppose loaning Ryan Loft to Exeter will have had much impact on Tottenham's 17/18 efforts. I fear it may not have much effect on Exeter's either (this is not a comment on Loft's quality, just that AIUI he's the kind of player we've roughly enough of for the time being).

Tim, Friday, 2 February 2018 14:30 (eight years ago)

Martin Amis has agreed to loan Ryan Loft to Will Self for the rest of the 2017-18 season.

the pinefox, Friday, 2 February 2018 14:33 (eight years ago)

Parting Anus lol

Five days ago Batshuayi scored twice for Chelsea, tonight he scored twice and delivered an assist for Dortmund.

Le Bateau Ivre, Friday, 2 February 2018 22:09 (eight years ago)

Pogba benched in favour of McTominay.

Wag1 Shree Rajneesh (ShariVari), Saturday, 3 February 2018 14:32 (eight years ago)

might as well subject myself to more of this shite!

calzino, Saturday, 3 February 2018 15:07 (eight years ago)

Lingard will need better than that to beat Lossl.

calzino, Saturday, 3 February 2018 15:11 (eight years ago)

lol what can you do with diving twats like Sanchez + Van La Parra?

calzino, Saturday, 3 February 2018 15:31 (eight years ago)

this is our best performance in ages, low bar as that is.

calzino, Saturday, 3 February 2018 15:48 (eight years ago)

idiotic needless yellow for Sanchez there, what a fuckwit.

calzino, Saturday, 3 February 2018 15:50 (eight years ago)

really scummy stuff from Huddersfield today!

Number None, Saturday, 3 February 2018 16:35 (eight years ago)

I don't mind them kicking Man U players.

What a nice chip from Auba. Everton being butchered

Le Bateau Ivre, Saturday, 3 February 2018 18:07 (eight years ago)

Mkhi seems to enjoy himself as well.

Le Bateau Ivre, Saturday, 3 February 2018 18:09 (eight years ago)

Everton are an absolute shambles of a team. It’s astonishing they managed to spend £190m this season and still end up so abject.

Wag1 Shree Rajneesh (ShariVari), Saturday, 3 February 2018 18:14 (eight years ago)

getting Mangala in was kind of asking for it

Number None, Saturday, 3 February 2018 18:15 (eight years ago)

arsenal do this a couple of times a season, it's almost like their karmic reward for being arsenal or something

imago, Saturday, 3 February 2018 18:18 (eight years ago)

Real talk SV. I've no idea why they bothered showing up. It's got a stench of self-sabotage to it.

Le Bateau Ivre, Saturday, 3 February 2018 18:18 (eight years ago)

And still... Everton could've made three or four goals more this second half.

Le Bateau Ivre, Saturday, 3 February 2018 19:08 (eight years ago)

Some great goals today
