Looking on the Wimpy website it seems that I would have to travel 30-40 miles from Cambridge to find a Wimpy, but if I did so, there are 8 to choose from, forming a ring of Wimpy around the neighbouring counties. Peterborough, Cheshunt, Loughton, King's Lynn, Colchester, Maldon, Borehamwood, Billericay. If they opened a branch in Thetford it would be perfect.

It's probably posted upthread but the last time I had a Wimpy, several years ago after probably a decade or more of abstinence, it was crushingly disappointing

I think there used to be a Wimpy in Worcester on Foregate St possibly next to Poppins but I can't find any evidence online of this ever existing

What is wrong with their buns? They look like they were made with sawdust and bits of brick during rationing and nobody's bothered to change the order since.

I'll freely admit that 25 years ago they were kind of pioneering in having a bean burger that you would want to eat and I used to go to the one in Yate maybe once a month?

Just looked to see where my nearest one is to me right now and it's 25 miles away in Porthcawl. Closed at the moment. With no opening hours all week.

xxp I went to high school in Worcester in the early 90s and don't remember a Wimpy there, it went McDonald's, Poppins, Deep Pan Pizza. I don't remember a Burger King in Worcester either, and that's usually the mark of a former Wimpy.

I went to the Hudds one a few times in late 70's early 80's but I can't remember much tbh. Watching sat matinee CFF shorts like Glitterball at the ABC cinema just up the road from it that got demolished to build the sainsburies is what gets my sad nostalgia pangs going these days.
