decided the other day I don't care when my neighbors put the trash out and then are out of town for the weekend (garbage collection day is friday)

like, the city ordinance is that you are supposed to remove the trash bin from the curb within X hours but they're not that much of an eyesore and who cares

i'm sure i'm not the first person to note this but how come all the winter olympics are specifically "winter" sports and all the summer olympics are all the other sports? it makes the winter olympics feel like some bullshit rich kid ancillary thing. why don't they move some of the summer olympics sports (fencing? weightlifting? no reason these *need* to be summer sports) so that it doesn't feel like a totally bullshit endeavor?

for sure, it should be "the olympics" and "the olympics: winter games" as a naming scheme

because one is things that only work in the winter, and the other is every other competition

because the (summer) olympics came first and the winter ones weren't introduced until 1924

Not that I personally care but the winter olympics certainly don't "feel like some bullshit rich kid ancillary thing' in Canada.
