Long story short, as I understand it, Amber and select others didn't respond very.....tactfully when some members of the DSA disability working group claimed they were left out of the Medicare For All campaign initiative. (It turns out the M4A people just had the wrong contact info, lol)

looking at fb she appeared to have responded to accusations of ableism with an excerpt from a Richard Wright book about how a legit-seeming newcomer to his local Communist Party chapter began attacking other members and making serious allegations against them, but then he turned out to be an escaped mental patient.

why are leftist/liberal organizations so much more prone to internecine battles like this? not saying it's not justified, but damn. bums me out. circular firing squad, etc.

yeah, i was gonna say a person can be disabled and also an asshole. i know from experience. that twitter feed was just ridiculous, initial complaints aside. the escalation and calls for people to cancel their patreon subs? get over yourself...

I'm fully confident that there wasn't malice behind their inability to reach us. From what we understand, their contact information was incorrect, and they assumed we had just failed to reply when we never received the message.

It actually reminds me a lot of hanging out in the office of my college weekly when I was a freshman and older "cool" dorks were running it, late-night pizza-fueled frustrated howling at idiocy etc.

chapo has the feel of when I went to a comic book shop around 11pm with a group of friends and there was a table of guys role playing in full loud dork mode, and when they saw that a woman had entered the shop they tried to act cool for a few minutes but soon the effort collapsed
